"It was snowing when we are here and the view was spectacular. Not so busy and it was not crowded that is why we got good pictures. A must visit for tourists when you are in Utah."
"We went to the visitor center and surrounding lake around the end of August, and let's just say.....we never expected the huge amount of literal clouds of brine flies. If you see the pictures I've attached, they talk about it inside the visitor center, but when you're traveling through multiple states, it is kind of the last thing you'd expect when you're just wanting to do a quick stop on this cool looking salt lake hahaha. So, BEWARE flies everywhere from summer to the beginning of fall. Additionally, my gosh, the smell was horrid! But as seen on the picture I attached is also normal so....overall I think that all things considered you should at least go! Won't hurt, and you'll have seen the big salt water lake! Beautiful as well!!"
"It's not the most robust visitor's center I've seen, but for $5 it is the easiest way to get to the Great Salt Lake. Brine flies are abundant as is the stench, but that's par for the course for this side of the lake in the late summer."
"Friendly and helpful staff, able to answer questions about the history of the lake, as well as more recent changes. The brine shrimp exhibit is of endless fascination to anyone who ever ordered 'Sea Monkeys' from the back of a comic book."
"This is a great little introduction to the Great Salt Lake and it's easy to get to from the Interstate. There's a small visitor center with one of those fantastic old park documentaries that talk about the geology, history and economy of the Great Salt Lake. I especially enjoyed learning about Lake Bonneville and the Saltair resort. You can easily get to the beach and the lake here too. There's a marina where you can get a ride out on the lake too."
