"Denise has been one of the best things to happen to our family! My oldest son was a bit of a tricky case, including non-verbal until 3.5 years, severe ADHD impacting communication, and a velopharyngeal insufficiency, amongst other muscular issues impacting his speech. At 3 years old, he was evaluated to be lower than the 1st percentile for expressive language and we felt hopeless. After years of feelings frustrated with the lack of progress my son made with other SLPs, we found Miss Denise and have experienced a night and day difference in progress. My son was able to graduate from needing services within 9 months, which is astounding considering previous providers estimated that he would need speech therapy into his teens and claimed he would never "speak normally" even with extensive speech therapy. But with Miss Denise's dedication and patience, my son is now speaking at developmentally appropriate levels, with full intelligibility. I am so impressed with how incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated she is. I also love that she explains treatment or things to watch for, so that I feel more equipped as a parent. In addition to speech improvement, we have noticed a marked improvement in my son's executive function skills, his self control, and his confidence. Miss Denise is firm yet incredibly kind and playful, which helped so much in the therapy process and developing these new skills. Our second son has now started therapy with Miss Denise and we are already seeing improvement in his enunciation, ability to communication, and a reduction in communication-related meltdowns.
