"5 stars because the staff was so friendly and HONEST. My last dentist did the usual "oh your teeth are rotting out of your head, you need x y z and it's gonna cost $$$$$$" when I felt like my teeth were fine. I was relieved when I came in for something possibly being stuck in my gums and they told me my gums/teeth are in great shape. Definitely won't ever be going back to Cornerstone, but I've found my new dentist. I am also a cash pay patient as I do not have insurance and they have a great program for us folks who are disadvantaged "
"I’ve never posted a one star review for anything before, but I feel I should here even though it makes me feel bad. The staff here are very friendly, especially the front desk, and the office is pretty and comfortable. I scheduled an exam and cleaning. I have dental anxiety and typically only go in emergencies, so I knew my teeth weren’t in great shape. I spent over two hours there getting excessive X-rays without a cleaning. The dentist came in and said I’d need several root canals, crowns over old fillings and a previous root canal, 5 new fillings, and root planing and scaling. She also said it’s my parents fault I have so many teeth issues because they didn’t get me braces, and I’d need to consider getting them there once they were finished with the initial work. (No dentist has ever recommended braces to me before. I’m 35.) I repeatedly said I wouldn’t be able to afford all of that, and she told me not to worry. I also said I’d prefer to get my teeth pulled over getting root canals, but she kept saying I was too young to lose my teeth. I felt unheard. When I got to the desk to set up my appointments, they handed me a plan for over $7,000. I have insurance, but they wouldn’t show me what it would cost with my insurance and only through their in house plan because they didn’t have access to the insurance portal on weekends (like what?? Then don’t show me that and wait until you do.) I immediately started crying. They recommended I get a Sunbit loan right then and there. I did. I took out $2,200 for the first procedure unsure of how I’d pay for the rest. I wish I would have waited and thought it over. She tried to schedule a root canal that same day. I’m glad I said I would rather wait a few days. After I left I had a bad feeling and decided to get a second opinion. I went to a small family dentist that’s been in operation for a long time. They really listened to me, and they said I’d been over diagnosed. I’ve already been to my new dentist three times now, and each time it’s been under an hour and under $30. In total, I’ll only be spending $220! That’s a $6,800 difference. I’m getting some of the same procedures done. The root planing and scaling was quoted at over $2000 at Abundant without insurance, and under $500 at my new dentist WITHOUT insurance. It cost me $60 WITH insurance. The disparity in cost is alarming. Abundant also doesn’t have their own payment plan system where most dentists do. My new dentist also didn’t pressure me in to anything and recommended I take a few days to think everything over, but at that point I didn’t need to. I would say if you feel your diagnoses seems excessive, get a second opinion just for peace of mind. Some of the teeth they said needed fillings and root canals actually don’t even have cavities. I’m still waiting for the $2,200 Sunbit loan to be refunded, and I’m hoping that goes smoothly. Overall I had a pretty bad experience just with my exam even though they are friendly and I felt like they were trying to help me. I’m not a dentist so I don’t know if they over diagnosed me or not, but I trust my new dentist. I feel like I dodged a bullet."
"Staff is friendly, however it seems this office tries to upsell/over diagnose. My first routine cleaning I was told I needed 2 crowns (my previous dentist hadn’t mentioned any concerns and I saw a dentist every 6 months). I proceeded with the recommended dental work, and unfortunately had a lot of issues with the crowns and ultimately had to get the crowns replaced. I didn’t trust this dental office to do a better job the second time around, hence I’ve switched dental offices and have been extremely happy."
"I saw Dr Ahn today because I had a fractured filling that was done by a different dentist. She and her staff were very friendly, took time to understand my expectations/concerns and did a very thorough exam. Dr Ahn was able to redo the filling today and she had some of the best technical skills of any dentist I’ve been to before. It was by far the most pleasant filling I have ever had done. Her office was also sure to run the costs through my insurance before we proceeded so that I could know how much it would cost. 10/10 overall experience and I would definitely recommend Dr Ahn and the entire abundant dental staff to anyone."
"The caring staff at Abundant got my 10 year old in quickly for tooth pain. They were very helpful and patient, they even got him a blanket when they noticed he was cold. All care and billing was explained. Everything was discussed and approved before care was provided. We will definitely be using Abundant for all of our dental needs."
