"Love the counselor. He is amazing. Insurance was said to cover it and I received a bill after 5 months for full payments. The billing manager stated that they have been fighting with my insurance for awhile. Well I wish I would have known that. I feel like it was handled poorly."
"Saw Tara Whiting clear back in August. Turned in paperwork for clinic and never heard back from Kim the Mgr ir Tara at all. Called to get paperwork back since there was no interest in anyone seeing me, Kim didn't want to give it back. Also, unsupervised interns are mostly working with you for the discounted rate- that is not explained at all on the first visit. This is misleading. I don't want an intern using me as practice, I want a licensed professional!! Thanks"
"My ex-husband and I met with Paul Peterson for both individual therapy and marital therapy, off and on for about 6 years, prior to our divorce. I feel that Paul has a sincere desire to help his clients, and that he works hard to try to do so. It was evident that Paul has a lot of knowledge about many facets of therapy. He works hard to kindly and patiently teach his clients to view their difficult circumstances in a healthy way, and to help them learn and apply healthy coping skills. However, over the coarse of our meetings, it became evident that Paul has very little understanding about the effects that pornography (or any type of lust addiction) can have on the spouse and marriage of a lust addict. Paul has a decent understanding of how lust addiction affects the addict and offers some viable help to an addict seeking recovery. But, he doesn't believe in betrayal trauma, nor does he understand the powerful ways that a lust addict often becomes manipulative, controlling, abusive, blaming, and otherwise destructive toward their spouse. Because of this lack of understanding about betrayal trauma and the effects of it on a lust addict's spouse and marriage, Paul encouraged me to stay in a dangerously abusive and toxic relationship. While I truly believe that he was trying to be helpful by trying to save a potentially good marriage, his lack of knowledge in these areas, caused added heartache and harm. Gratefully, toward the end of my meetings with Paul, I was led to find the WORTH Group with Life Changing Services. The W.O.R.T.H. group is a free, LDS faith based, therapist led, support group for women seeking healing from betrayal trauma, caused by a spouse's lust addiction. Through the WORTH group, I learned that marital therapy is not helpful if the lust addict is not truly working on recovery from their addiction. While many married couples, who seek help through Life Changing Services, end up with happier, healthier marriages, I learned that such results are ultimately dependent on whether or not both spouses work on their own recovery from the effects of the lust addiction. I learned that there cannot be a healthy marriage when one spouse is a lust addict who is not actively working on recovery. I learned that true recovery is more than just abstinence. I learned about setting and holding appropriate boundaries with the addict. I learned that the addicts choices are in no way, my fault. I learned that my happiness or unhappiness isn't dependent on the addicts choices. And, I learned many other truths about lust addiction and the effects that it can have on a marriage. This knowledge led me from a toxic, abusive relationship, to a path of peaceful freedom, that I had previously thought was unattainable."
