About the Cranial Technologies
Cranial Technologies, located at 4225 Lake Park Boulevard in West Valley City, Utah, is a leading health institution specializing in plagiocephaly treatment for infants. With a focus on providing the highest quality treatment and outcomes, Cranial Technologies has helped over 300,000 children since 1986. The institution is known for its innovative DOC Band, the first cranial helmet cleared by the FDA for plagiocephaly treatment.
Plagiocephaly, or flat head syndrome, affects nearly 1 in 2 infants and is often caused by factors such as back-sleeping and restrictive devices. The DOC Band gently corrects the baby's head shape over time, redirecting head growth and achieving a desired symmetrical head shape.
Cranial Technologies utilizes Digital Surface Imaging (DSi)® Technology to assess and create individualized DOC Bands for each patient. This technology allows for 3D renderings of head deformities, ensuring a custom fit that reduces treatment time and improves outcomes. With a commitment to excellence and dedication to family well-being, Cranial Technologies is a trusted institution for plagiocephaly treatment.

Reviews of Cranial Technologies
"The treatment was good, but the way they handle the insurance is not so great. They wanted to blame my insurance for not covering the service when it was Cranial Technologies who said there was no review in the very beginning and then later didn’t provide the correct measurements to the insurance. There was continued back and forth going on for a long while. I finally got my reimbursement after 5 months. In the beginning they make it seem the band needs to be provided as soon as possible and the insurance will cover later down the road. They make it seem they have good communication with the insurance but it turns out they do not. Learn from my mistake and make sure everything is cleared with the insurance before going through with the service."
"The helmet was great. But anything to do with their customer service sucks. They won’t even start the band until it’s paid in full. So if you choose to pay upfront then receive reimbursement once insurance goes through good luck getting your check. My insurance company sent them the check a month and a half ago. Still haven’t received my refund. Just talked to someone and they only send checks out at the end of the month. So now I’m stuck waiting another two weeks. Even though they received my insurance check 2-3 weeks ago. If there are any other helmet places around I would highly recommend that you use them due to this company having poor customer service. 10 out of 10 DO NOT RECOMMEND."
"My pediatrician recommended Cranial Technologies because they had the best reports of any place she's seen. I have taken two of my babies there and am pleased with their services. My first was 18 months and had severe brachycephaly. Many places wouldn't even accept him for treatment because he was so old but Cranial Technologies did which I was grateful. They were honest about the prognosis but after 6 months of helmet use he had progressed to the mild-moderate range. I was pleased with the progress he did make and only wish I had pushed to get him a referral for a helmet sooner. The second had moderate plagiocephaly due to torticollis. I had him evaluated at another clinic the pediatrician also liked and that his PT recommended and while the other clinic seemed nice and their evaluation measurements were within a millimeter of Cranial technologies, I ended up going with Cranial Technologies since they were the same distance from me, I liked their 3D camera's high-tech evaluation accuracy, the helmets are a little more ventilated than others, and my previous experience was positive. He got his helmet at 6 months after completing PT. He has just finished with his treatment after 4 months and his dad and I are very pleased with the progress. Both my children tolerated the helmet without any problems (the first would ask for me to put it back on if I forgot after the bath). While Cranial Technologies like any place isn't perfect, I would absolutely go to them again if needed and recommend them to others."
"Beware - these people lied straight to our faces and billed us nearly double what they had initially told us even after speaking to our insurance, asking about our coverage and getting approval for the claim. We were told that the cash cost without insurance was around $4,000. Cranial Technologies talked to our insurance and quoted us $1,350 for the helmet. They then billed our insurance $6,000 and we ended up getting a bill for $2,280. There are other providers of these helmets in Salt Lake, so be sure to shop around for a more honest company."
