"I called in saying I wanted to make an appointment for diagnosing ADHD. Set up the appointment paid my co-pay only for Dr. Charles to say that he doesn’t diagnose ADD and referred me out to a place in Provo. Wasted my time and money. After the appointment they did call me back and refunded my co-pay. So I’m changing to a 3 star review. I Wish the front desk would’ve said something about dr Charles not being the right doctor for ADD"

"Literally leaving in tears from my appointment. Dr Charles just confirmed my fear of going to doctors as a chronically ill patient. Condescending, patronizing, and I literally had to argue with him as to why almost 25 diagnoses isn't enough to be deemed unable to work. I went in for refills, and for a doctor's note for the state stating that I can't work, simply so I can receive food stamps. Literally so I can just be able to eat. My diagnoses consist of both mental and physical, some severe, and I guess even the physical alone wasn't enough for him to feel like I can't work, even though I have severe chronic pain literally all over my body. He kept asking me how I'm treating each one, which most I try to manage with medication, but that answer wasn't good enough for him. I don't even know how I was supposed to answer that other than doing what my Drs have told me to do. Every time I would try to defend/try to explain myself, he would shut me down. He didn't even do a physical exam of any kind. He compared me to other patients "who are able to work just fine", totally dismissing anything I had to say. He was far from understanding and completely exacerbated my fear of being misunderstood and not being taken seriously. He also began schooling me on how disability works, and I freaking know how it works, I've been fighting to get it for a few years now. And I didn't go in to talk about that. He basically treated me like I was trying to scam the system, and like I was stupid or something. He hardly asked any questions, too. I was fighting with him the entire time. I seriously wish I had never gone in, and wish I would have gotten up and left instead of talk to him. It was clear from the very beginning of the appointment that he was not going to help in the slightest. Absolutely humiliating. I have severe mental health issues I am dealing with, and now I am mentally spiraling. Absolutely hate doctors like him. Learn to have some freaking compassion and try being a bit more understanding so you stop traumatizing patients. I have no clue as to why he's a doctor."

He took the time to understand my background and then helped me resolve my questions and issues quickly and with very little wait. I will continue to see Dr. Charles and recommend him to my family and friends."
