"Katie was so amazing at helping me to learn and implement a new narrative in my life using the word "and". I came to Katie struggling with a belief that I was not enough unless I completed an extremely long list of to do's at home (as a wife/mother), at church, and in my work. This belief had caused me to experience many awful anxiety attacks and to not trust myself or others. Katie helped me to know that I am enough right now and has helped me to focus on "being" instead of "doing" which has made ALL of my anxiety go away! This has changed my relationships so much because it has allowed me to trust myself and others and to be the "real me" with other people. Katie listened so well without judgement and let me lead the conversations to where I felt I needed help. Katie is so kind, empathetic, and validated my feelings and experiences which made it so easy to open up and share with her. She is the best!"
"When I first saw Katie I thought I was going to be trying to save my marriage. What I really saved, was me Katie guided me through a very painful journey and helped me find a path that was healthy for me. With Katie's help I gained confidence and insight into myself that previous therapists never managed to guide me to. Therapy wasn't always easy. But Katie has a very compassionate, non-judgmental way of guiding the patient through as many steps, and back sliding, as it takes to find closure, contentment, positive self-awareness, or whatever it is they are seeking. Therapists aren't a one size fits all person. But I have absolutely no qualms recommending Katie to anyone who needs mental health help. She can identify the work you need to do and hold your hand along the way."
"Katie is truly a wonderful therapist. She has made such an impact on my life, even after just the first session with her. Katie is welcoming, encouraging, and honest with you about what your goals are. She points out your strengths and achievements and makes sure to remind you what you are capable of and what you have accomplished on your own. I appreciate her so much and I know anyone who has the chance to meet her would appreciate all the love, support, and guidance she provides during her sessions as well!"
"Before starting therapy I struggled a lot with prior trauma and shame, anxiety, and on and off depression. Sometimes it all felt like too much and I would spiral into a shell of a human just going through the motions. After working with Katie for several months I can truly say I am in the best mental state I’ve ever been and my relationships with my husband and friends are the healthiest and most fulfilling they have ever been. Having a therapist who would listen and who was truly unbiased was so important to me and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Katie."
"Look (and listen)... Therapy is hard and it's not fun... so it's awkward to write a review about my experiences in therapy, because it was a roller coaster (as it should be). Katie was recommended to me by an acquaintance as someone who could help me with some mental health challenges I was facing. I was in a position where I was miserable with the way things were going in my life and I wasn't handling the various crises well... Katie did a great job listening to me and helping me practice reframing some of the more negative thoughts I was having (as a habit) and to stand back and look at some major life changes I needed to make in order to address some of the issues I am working on. Sadly, one of those changes was that I needed to move to a different city, and so I had to stop working with Katie... and though I know I still have more work to do, I'm extremely happy with the steps I was able to take in my year working with Katie. I strongly recommend working with Katie at Brideway of Hope, and good luck on your journey to healing!"
