"I have been seeing Rachel for almost 4 years. She is amazing at helping navigate blended families. She has definitely helped keep my family together through those struggles and helped my children navigate in a blended family. She is honest and that is what has helped the most. It has helped to see things more clear when sometimes you can tend to see things only your way."
"I gave her one star for being honest. I went to her because she claimed to be a trauma and adoptee competent therapist. I went to her about trauma from being relinquished at birth. This is when she was honest. She told me that her best friend had adopted 2 children and she had been there since the mother had “chosen” them. I explained to her that many adoptees never speak about their pain because they don’t want to hurt their adoptive parents. They may wait until they are older or their parents are deceased like me. She told me that she wouldn’t be a good therapist if she didn’t see that and she might as well go flip burgers. Being a chef is a noble profession. Her answer was disgraceful. It also told me she wasn’t there to listen to me or any adoptee. I hope her best friend’s children get to be seen and heard some day. Adoptees are 4 times more likely to commit suicide than non adoptees. We are over represented in therapy and this is why. We are told that we had a bad experience and it’s not all adoptees. The gaslighting makes you feel isolated and scared. She is doing more harm than good when it comes to adoptees. If you are an adoptee, please find the adoptee community. You are not alone."
