"My son has special needs & it’s been extremely difficult for him to get the help he needs. It’s all through zoom, instead of contracting with local therapists, or reimbursing for local help- every situation is different & for some Zoom may be ideal, but it’s difficult with things such as occupational therapy. My biggest frustration is how difficult it is to get ahold of someone who can answer questions or help with anything. Any issues take months to be resolved or even replied to. This is my son’s second year & they re-evaluated him at the end of the last school year. The start of this school year although I had responded twice to two different directors confirming his return, somehow they lost his IEP & still weren’t sure he was returning & he was not on their list. He was forgotten. He finally started speech & reading therapy, yet they still don’t have him on their “list” to receive occupational therapy."

"They are great! You can choose to build your own plan or do the options they have! If you follow their directions you should be fine! And my kids love the extra classes in technology!"

"Here is the deal, if you are a seasoned homeschool parent and your children are committed to homeschool I would say go for it. If you are new to homeschool, and you are trying it out for the first time, know that there may be seasoned people that give tips, but you are basically left in the dark to figure it out on your own. There is very limited live help. This program has not worked out for my high school student and if we want to pull her we have to pay $1,500 to pull her from the program specifically Spark Academy. My child did zero work for 2 months, I am homeschooling 3 other children and assumed all was well. I had zero communication or hey heads up your child is not doing any school work, is everything ok type of communication. Yes this could be my fault, but when your child is an excellent student but falls behind and has next to zero support with the program and feels ashamed to tell her parents then we are left feeling stuck, desperate and behind. So think carefully about your approach and if you want to pay back all the money when your child is failing and falling into a deep depression. If I could go back, I would've stuck with the program through our school district where they would take our child back and we would not have major financial consequences."

"We withdrew one month early last year from my tech high to go to a charter school my daughter was accepted too for this year but they let her go early at the end of the school year last year. The owner is trying to come after me for all the money we got from them for the supplemental education of that school year I.e the funds they give u there for education. However the school we went to did not get any money from the state or school only my tech high. Yet they are still trying to get the funds back that were granted to us by the state!? I was constantly on edge doing this program. If you miss more than a few learning logs instead of warning you they will just withdraw you. Even though it could be easy to just go back and finish those they would rather just kick you out and make you repay them the funds! For more information I had just had a baby when my daughter started this program at age seven. The next year I had just had another baby when my daughter did this program at age 8. I had a traumatic premature birth and suffered post part in depression and anxiety. I explained my situation to them and that I wasn’t able get online and on emails much of the time also as we either didn’t have internet (would go to the library if so) or I was very consumed with two babies and not looking at emails. I explained that I never checked emails yet this was the only way Amy communicated with me. We would do our learning logs in chunks like 8 or more in a row the first year and just three or four the seasons year. It’s easy to lose track of when you last did the learning log when you are doing it for months ahead or a month ahead. And when you don’t even check your calendar because you are not even sleeping taking care of two babies all night! It’s so easy to catch back up once I would realize that we were behind a month. But not before being scared that my daughter was already dropped or was going to be dropped. Luckily one of the other owners was more forgiving than able and got us back in the program a couple times. It didn’t need to be that complicated I just needed to take 20 min once I got the memo and go do the 4 or so learning logs we were behind. Just got the non apologetic memo yesterday that we now owe them 1,000 and I haven’t even heard from them since last May when we withdrew. That’s quite a long time to wait to tell someone if you have a claim that you owe them money. And just after the holidays!? Not good business ethic there. If you are like me and prefer more of a Montessori or Waldorf learning environment and less computer time than it may be better to just work a little over time for the extra 1,000 for your kids educational supplies. Or raise money from family. These guys have way to much to hold over your head and are way to trigger happy to kick you out of the program and the. You have to find someone other than Amy to let you back in. We never met anyone from My Tech High when we would go on the MyTechHigh field trips. Much better to just join other homeschool groups in your area as the meet ups are more personal and people actually know you and find you to walk around at an event together etc. And all the computer programs can just be purchased online also without going through this program. Most the programs like circuitry was just buying a set on amazon and doing it. The teacher would just say which page of the packet that comes with the circuitry class to do. And that was it for that class. I wish we had of done the one stem class that actually had a location you could go to and have a teacher and meet other kids. We didn’t realize that that particular class was like that until we already signed up for classes and then that one was full. My daughter just wanted to be around other kids. Weird that they only had that one class option to do that and we were out of luck. I asked if they would make a second class like that for all the kids on the waiting list for that and they said no sorry. And I was told it was a long waiting list!"
