"It's tough to put this academy in words - Joseph has an aura about him unlike any professor I've previously had. The classes involve insightful lectures, occasional field trips, hands on demonstrations, and helpful critiques. I already adore the environment created among students - inspring, helpful, and kind. Joseph's skill level, knowledge and experience are expert level. I admire how throughly he researches his projects and it has been an honor to study under him. Highly recommend for anyone who is wanting to study art in a classical way and with meaning behind the pieces they create."
"I have been a student of Joseph Brickey's off and on for 2 decades now. I've witnessed and practiced his techniques, learned from other great masters with his guidance and facilitation, and listened to his philosophy on the value and symbolism of great art. He is a tremendous teacher, a rare one who is able to help an artist expand their understanding of what is possible, without losing that unique spark that they bring to the equation. No matter where you are in your growth, he will help you elevate your work and your outlook. I have also studied at BYU and the Florence Academy of Art, but it is under Joseph's tutelage that I experienced the most growth and even at a deeper level, the greater perspective and understanding of the value of an artist. He is passionate about our influence and purpose as artists, and you can't help but leave feeling inspired to do and be your best, utilizing the tools and knowledge he has given you."
"When I heard of the Anatomy Boot camp ten week course being taught by Niki Covington (and Joseph Brickey) I jumped at the chance and was not disappointed. My knowledge and appreciation for the human form has been greatly increased. Not only the genius and functionality of the body, but the great beauty and design of each of the parts and how beautifully the parts come together in creating the forms of the body. I also loved the insights and inspirational messages taken from the works and writings of the great masters of the past. This has left me wanting to reach a little higher and push myself a little harder. The best part of this class was Niki's one on one approach in critiquing our drawings and sculptures, always showing us hands on how to improve our efforts. His expectations of us were always high, and In his gentle way, he always encouraged us to do a little better. It was a great privilege to learn from Niki and Joseph both masters of the human form who have a deep respect for the body and a true passion for creation and beauty. I loved their enthusiasm for the subject and always came away inspired. During the ten week course, this was always the highlight of my week. Thanks Niki and Joseph!"
"A unique and rare school that provides a classical education that immerses its students in teaching beauty. The past can exist in the present and is part of our future- it isn't a historicists view. It is a living and breathing tradition."
"The education I received at the Beaux Arts Academy was priceless. More than simply training our eyes and our hands, learning at the academy expanded our minds and souls. The Beaux Arts Academy provides a whole picture of what the arts can and should be; pairing structure with symbolism and technique with truth. Josepha and Niki also both truly care about their student and what they teach. The study of classicism is a lifelong passion for them and it becomes contagious."
