"The school where a young Jerry Mitchell stood up to and defeated the infamous Buddy Revell ... 3 o'clock high filming location 1986"
"I'm not going to lie, It's a very beautiful school to go to. The biggest problem is the people. It's a very socially closed-off, clique-y and hostile place to be if you're not "in" with the right people. They also have dire issues with not caring about, and not properly addressing the mental health of students, as well as treating LGBTQ+ students very poorly, and a rampant drug problem. Overall, tolerable. I made some good friends here, but not a comfortable place for people who don't fit in. You *will* be ostracized if you don't follow the status quo."
"This is a great school if you’re a normal student with normal classes. If you’re moving from out of state, be warned because Ogden is a very cliquey school and when trying to get into higher classes such as AP or IB the administration will say anything to convince you, and it may not be in your best interest I want to start off by saying that the teachers do care, and they do listen. All of the teachers that I’ve met I have loved, and they genuinely care. When it comes to the administration and the IB coordinator, this is when it goes downhill. There are a variety of out-of-state students who were preyed on and chosen to be in International Baccalaureate. When being told what this program ensued, not everything was explained. They made it seem as though the IB program was beneficial, and while it is, there are financial aspects that weren’t even brought up until my student was almost done with the program. Each classes test is $200+. While that may be easy for some families, it was not for me. When expressing my concerns I was told “Well in the end, actual college is about $5,000 for all the credits you could be getting if you pass the tests. You’re actually saving money, but if you don’t want too that’s fine… but it’d be smarter to do it this way.” The problem is, I don’t have the money NOW. It would be okay if this was explained in a kinder way, but it was not. He was extremely passive aggressive, and every since he’s come to Ogden every interaction has felt like a grueling experience for him. I apologize so deeply for your inconvenience because I can’t pay for the tests sir, but it seems the only thing you care about is how the school looks rather than my student as a person. This is just one instance that I and my student was not heard. There are a variety more, such as when my student wanted to drop out of the program a variety of times, and was practically unheard and forced to stay. They claim to care about the wellbeing of their students, but all they care about is how good the school looks… The other members of the administration have also done crazy things. Such as one of the admins cutting in front of my student to get lunch, how annoying!! Moral of the story, do what you think is better. If you think your student will thrive here go for it! But every experience I have had is negative. Thanks Ogden for making an extremely memorable and very “meaningful” experience!"
"Ogden High is one of the most amazing building to the history of America and the Great Depression. It brought jobs and stability to the state. The Million Dollar School west of the Mississippi. If you are ever able to go tour the school, it's worth it. They have upgraded it with technology while retaining the originality of history. Proud to be a graduate from here."
"Great soccer venue. Bathrooms available on the East side of the stadium."
