"I went to get acrylic nails done. I called in advance to set up an appointment but they didn't pick up the phone, so I had to leave a voice mail. When I showed up, the first receptionist told me to go away and come back at 4:30 PM. It was 2:30 PM. I'd taken Frontrunner from SLC to get there, so it wasn't worth it to me to go home and come back. I waited in their lobby for 2 hours. After that, there was additional confusion as a 2nd and 3rd receptionist and a bunch of additional staff tried to figure out who could do my nails. This meant more waiting time. In the end, they had a cosmetology student who had already gotten certified as a nail tech do my nails, pulling her out of class. I felt really bad about interrupting her schooling. She was very kind and did good-quality nails on me. It did take awhile. They gave me half off the nails to apologize, so it only cost $8. I tipped the nail artist the other $8, because she seemed really personable and friendly. None of this was her fault. Although I'd left home at noon, I got back home at 10PM. I think the supplies they had were of poor quality, because the white paint had debris in it, and it's only been a week and a half and two of the nails have already fallen off. Usually, acrylics last 2-3 months on my nails, so this is unusual for me."
"The staff here are very rude. At least the testing center staff are, I have come to take test here on three occasions. Each time the staff would roll their eyes when I walked in or asked a question regarding the center rules. At the most recent test, I was waiting in the hall and overheard them making fun of me."
"I would not recommend attending here. I took the Information Technology course at the Lehi Campus. When I had my first meeting with a counselor to discuss taking the course they seemed annoyed that I scheduled an appointment before registering for a class. After registering for the class I was required to schedule another appointment with a counselor in order to take the class. When discussing the way the class worked I was told it was a "go at your own pace class". It really should have been called "a teach it yourself class". The first couple days of the class involved orientation, like any other class, but after orientation one might think that the class would start and the teacher would begin teaching. Unfortunately, the teacher gives you a playlist from YouTube to watch and sits quietly at his desk. You are not provided with anything else to study. This is how the class goes for weeks. At one point he did show us how to make an Ethernet cable (which was not on the exam) and talked about his job experiences in the past, aside from that the teacher doesn't teach anything. Those first weeks you are supposed to be studying and learning to work towards being able to pass the ITF+ certification from CompTIA. A week before the exam, when the teacher gives you websites to look at, which I had already found in my previous attempts to study. The ITF+ is supposed to be the intro for those that don't know much about the IT field. From what I understand in the past the school offered an IT Fundamentals course that you were required to take before you could take the IT Technician course. They have now combined the two classes, and claim you will be provided the curriculum for both in the combined class. They use Canvas to give you assignments and provide access to the class, which could be useful, but the due dates that are shown are not accurate and when you ask questions regarding it, the answers that given dance around the question and don't help clear anything up. After studying any online material available and watching as many YouTube videos as I could find I was able to pass any practice test, I could find on the Internet, with a fairly decent score. When I took the actual exam I barely passed. Many of the questions on the exam were not even covered by the YouTube videos the teacher provided. At one point, after completing the first certificate, the school was having computer problems (ironic that it was in the IT classes) with their ability to provide the individual parts of the course the students and we were literally twiddling our thumbs for days, but were required to be in class according to the attendance policy. The teacher did take an hour one day to explain "how to pick yourself" and how making certain choices in your life and connecting with the right people can help you be successful. Taking that into consideration, I would highly recommend thinking twice about taking this course. After they figured their computer problems out we were given multiple sections of the course at all at once, then two weeks later the teacher says one of them needed to be completed by the end of the day and one didn't actually need to be done at all. There had been no notification before hand to determine the due date on the portion that needed to be completed by that the end of the day. If you fail or fail to complete one of the areas you have to pay to retake the part, which would be understandable, except they are not providing any educational instruction to help you pass. You can find online classes for cheaper, with curriculum other than YouTube videos, and you can do them in your own time, which have the same quality as this school. If you can handle no communication and no education, this class is for you."
"Recently just finished the digital media program, definitely recommend it! I will miss going to class every day! But I’m excited for the knowledge I have gained to continue forward with my career. Thanks Mtech! By the way, shout out to Ryan Davis! He was my instructor, he did a great job! Also shout out to the lady at the bookstore! She’s so helpful and kind!"
