FLT Academy 1887 South 1800 West, Woods Cross, UT 84087

"I haven't had a good experience. I weigh more than 180lbs so I can't train in the more available SportCruiser, and I need to fly the DA40. Great airplane, but the school just can't keep up with the students. There aren't enough airplanes. And when there are, they usually go down for maintenance within a week of getting it airworthy. The maintenance is slow as well. Even if they are working hard, there isn't enough of them. The school does not allow students to time build with each other, nor instructors time build with students. They will not count hours built outside of the school towards your commercial time building, even if you are part 61. The career track program is advertised to take 15 months, but after almost a year, I don't even have my commercial license (according to the career track timeline, I am 3 months behind). I have always put flying a priority, and I have been fighting to move quicker, but the school is holding me back because they can't keep up with how many students they have."

"You won’t find a better place to get your training! Everyone at FLT has been extremely professional and have been as motivated as I am to complete every stage. I was one of the people that has been interested in aviation my whole life and just never took the plunge to do it. "Went on a one hour flight with Jenna Odekirk over bountiful and the great salt lake. I've had an interest in completing my PPL and eventually moving forward into commercial. Jenna made my introductory flight fun and informative, letting me fly the plane ascending and descending along with with some right and left turns, explaining all the instruments, what they do, and what to expect throughout my classes when I choose to move into commercial. My favorite part was watching how effortless it was for her to fly and how she described her experience throughout her training.
