Reviews of The Farm Animal Rescue; formerly known as The Farm at Gardner Village
"I've seen these guys work at events and I can tell they don't take care of their animals. For a "sanctuary" that cares for abused animals, they don't do too well. They let kids mistreat them at events and don't watch over them. If they're trying to rehabilitate these mistreated animals, why send them to parties where kids will further abuse them without proper supervision? Poor chicks were being dropped back into their pens instead of gently set down, there wasn't a heat lamp for them either during a cold windy day. Kids would just grab the poor chicks harshly and the birds would be squeaking and chirping for help if no one grabbed them from squeezing hands. I genuinely wanted to take home some of the chicks to give them better care. Their sheep have matted, dirty wool that isn't maintained which can cause them to get sick. Same with the baby lamb, the tail isn't docked which can lead to them having a higher risk of illness. Looking at the rest of the reviews, it seems that they don't do any better at their farm."
"They do a good job taking care of the rescued animals. They do have a petting zoo area for some of them and they even rotate those out so they don't have to be in a petting zoo all day either."
"They have upgraded the experience since we were there in the spring. It's way nicer, smells less like farm animals and has a cute little train and even a roller coaster for kids. I highly recommend it for small children!"
"We had such a great time here! The animals and attractions are so fun and all the staff was super sweet. So impressed that they are continuing to improve things and build more. Love to see a little snack shack or some bottled water being sold somewhere on site in the future. Overall, totally recommend!"
"Love love love!! I’m so glad we went there. Yes it was muddy and stinky but .. it’s farm animals. What’s you expect!? It was the perfect place to take our 2 year old. Everyone was so friendly and helpful! I would 1000% recommend this place!"
