"Not as good as expected. The food was ok, but nothing standout. Part of my meal was very clearly overcooked, the broccoli (you can see in the photos) and was actually so tough it was hard to eat. The service wasn't what I'm used to in America, fairly grumpy and a bit short with us, but I'm willing to believe that it might just have been a bad night. The atmosphere however, and the setting, are superb. It's a great location with fantastic views and a couple or small group would get lost in themselves, enjoying the place, the views and the atmosphere. Booking is absolutely essential, I doubt they ever take walk-ins as the resort was really busy and it's not a huge restaurant. Go for the views, not for the food."
"For many years, Sundance has been a favorite dining destination for me. In the spirit of anticipation, tonight I went to The Foundry Grill, with seven guests, hoping that its new menu would live up to my memories. It is not without reservation that I share my critique, which I do in the hope of contributing constructively to its continued evolution. On the positive side, the lemonade, wedge salads, grilled asparagus, wood-fired Brussels sprouts, and the radish side dish were well executed. However, the meal took a turned south with the undercooked warm bread and accompanying balsamic dip. The eggplant dish, while ambitious, didn't hit the mark. The steelhead trout dishes were a low point. Two of the four we ordered arrived overcooked, and the underdone kale bedding didn't help matters. It was a dish that lacked cohesion, leaving only one among us to brave through till the end. The Foundry Grill showed bold attempts at new flavor pairings, but unfortunately, they often felt like clashing chords. The stunning environment could not offset these culinary missteps. As it stands, I suggest potential diners reconsider The Foundry Grill for their dinner plans, at least until some adjustments are made. It saddens me to say this, but I believe in the potential for it to be so much more."
"Delicious spot for dinner in Sundance! Immediately upon being seated, our server Sam came by, introduced herself, and opened up our bottle of wine and champagne. One of our appetizers was the bread with balsamic vinegar and not pictured we also ordered the charcuterie board the brussel sprouts. While it was all good, the charcuterie board was my favorite out of all of them. The toasted muesli bread with jam on the board was so delicious!! I ordered the Beef Fillet for my main entree per Sam’s suggestion. While the wait for our mains took a while, the Beef Fillet was worth it! The red potato mash was a delicious pairing to every bite of the fillet. The brussel sprouts were a bit burnt at the tops. Overall, I’d recommend!"
"We had the broccoli cheddar soup as a starter which they split for us into 2 cups. It was very well blended and tasted good! We also got their lemonade options. Those lemonades had a lot of flavor and would be even better with some alcohol added to them :) . We also got the flank steak sandwich and the chicken bacon ranch sandwich both with the fries. The steak sandwich was better than the CBR but both were really flavorful and delicious. The pesto on the steak sandwich really made that sandwich the winner. We would eat either of them again. the truffle aoli is also to die for. The service was extremely lacking though. It took nearly 20 mins for anyone to get our drink order and then almost an hour before we got our food. The place wasn’t that busy on the inside but maybe the outdoor patio was? Anyways, beware of that if you are in a rush. You don’t want to miss the scenic lift closure times because of a slow lunch!"
"The dirty fries are very good, but the egg was undercooked. The Brussels sprouts were overcooked. The Croque Madame sandwich (daily special) was good. The sauce is very buttery. The shrimp tacos need a sauce of some kind. The hamburgers are very good, but one was cooked to medium and was cooked well done (they didn't ask how we wanted them cooked). The wedge salads are big with two wedges. The outdoor seating is idyllic, especially since we were sitting close to the small waterfall."
