"I passed the class but did not have a good experience doing so. I was disappointed in Dr. Wong's performance as my instructor. On two separate occasions inside a facility where we signed a document stating we would keep our masks on at all times, she told me to pull my mask down so she could "see my lips." When I brought to her attention that she didn't return my calls given to her over a 10 day period, she lashed out, making many different claims about "my generation" as well as informed me it was not her responsibility to get back to me on questions I had pertaining to her coursework. There were inconsistencies with her documents and many times my classmates and I were confused on what was expected of us. The course was fast and while it was cheap, as a customer and student I felt like Dr. Wong was irresponsible. I can honestly say I learned maybe 5% of material from her, and the rest of the material from classmates, Google, YouTube, and the provided texts. I was disappointed in the experience I had with clinicals considering we just sat there for hours while the residents ate dinner. I give this program 2 stars because I was able to find work as a CNA quickly after graduation. Upon beginning work, I felt under-qualified in practicing the actual skills because she did not practice or demonstrate anything with us."
"I appreciated this class quite a bit. The course does has its downfalls, but only to people who require an exact directions, and need help step by step. You spend more time reading the book yourself and keeping your self on task. Dr. Wong can be a little confusing, but I ask quite a bit of questions that got some clarification out for the whole class. Your class should be treated like a team. Help each other out to understand and in some cases, clarify what is expected. In the end, it was a breeze. We had one student drop because they believed they weren’t learning anything, but they never asked for help, from anyone. If you want to get prepped for your CNA and certified for the test in one month, and pay the very minimum understanding that you will have to teach yourself, then take this class. You need to be certified by an instructor just to sit for the state tests. This is the most affordable and fastest route."
"Dr. Wong’s class is the fastest CNA program offered in St. George. It is affordable- be sure to bring $50 first day of class for book rental. You’ll need to buy a stethoscope and blood pressure cuff independently. Also be sure to wear scrubs and closed toed shoes as you will be doing clinical hours. The facility we do clinical at is great. In total I spent about $730 on course and equipment but got $50 back from books at the end of the course. On the last day of class be prepared to pay $90 for your skills and written state exam- so you can book your day to go test. The class work is manageable if you keep on top of it. Overall a great experience and would take from her again."
"Dr. Wong's teaching methods take some getting used to. She designed the class in a way where you end up teaching yourself most of the content. I passed my exams on the the first try no problem. We had a large class which was hard to accommodate at times, but we were still able to learn."
"When I first started this class I had mixed feelings. I had mixed feelings about the setup as well as the instructor. Dr. Wong teaches in a way that I have never been taught and at first I did not like it. I felt like she sat back too much and didn’t teach us anything. But then a few weeks passed and I realized how effective her technique was. She allowed us students to work with each other and figure things out. If we had questions, Dr. Wong would tell us the answers, but we had to ask. The setup was a little difficult because it was a 6 hour per day class, however, we had 2 hours of clinicals everyday and I felt like that helped us learn the skills inside and out. Tonight I took my written exam and passed with flying colors. I take my skills test next week and I have no doubt that I will pass that as well. This is a great course, but you need to be open minded to a different technique of teaching and learning."
