"My review of the Holladay Santo Taco will be a bit different than when I review the downtown location. That is because this location loses some of the atmosphere and service from the downtown location. That said, I do like the Holladay location, but I like the downtown store a bit better. On the other hand, one BIG advantage this location has is parking. A nice, spacious, free parking lot. The only annoyance is finding the place; this Santo Taco is located in a food court with other local restaurants. Therefore, I recommend looking for the food court. As I mentioned, the atmosphere is a bit of a miss compared to the downtown SLC location. I personally don't like TVs in the dining area, especially if I can hear them and especially if it's the news. Plus, the dining area, being shared, doesn't have a distinct atmosphere. Finally, the service can be a little slow. Bear in mind I usually go here right about the time they close for an afternoon break. Would be nice if even then they could help a little more, especially with the self-service kiosk where orders are taken. The highlight for me...and hopefully anyone else who likes Santo Taco is their menu. I usually always order something with birria for my meal. I believe this is their specialty as they have a menu for birria separate from the rest of the menu. I enjoy their birria and the consome, but hot take...I like the console better with their lengua, which is also my favorite protein. Their tacos al pastores (Friday only here) are also very tasty and is even served with pineapple. Did I mention you can pile their stuff on French fries or nachos? You sure can and I can say the nachos are pretty good. Though I am surprised no one yet has mentioned the best item on the menu; their churros! Each time I've had them they ate near perfect. The right amount of crisp on the outside with it being soft on the inside and lightly dusted on cinnamon. And it's $2 per churro (their menu says $3, but it's still $2). If you don't like going downtown but still want your fix of Santo Taco, the Holladay location delivers."
"I’ve been to the Rose Park location many times. On this occasion I was closer to this location. So I stopped in and got my usual order of fish tacos. The fish was like 1/3 the size that they normally are when I get them from the Rose Park spot. I even just went back to the RP spot and got fish tacos to make sure they didn’t just change the size across the board for all locations. Sure enough, Rose Park Santo Taco were giving the usual generous portion of fish. So I’m giving 4 stars for this food hall location because I was disappointed with the size of the fish in the taco, which was not up to the standard set by the Rose Park spot"
"I was looking forward to eating here all day. Wouldn’t recommend for burritos. First time I ever saw my husband not finish a burrito. I got the veggie burrito and it wasn’t good. It lacked flavor and was very mushy and falling apart. I ate the toppings with a spoon. The salsa bar was underwhelming. I went to YANA next to this place and wished I ordered dinner from them instead. Their menu looks incredible and the owner was so kind. Won’t be returning to Santo. Regret the $30 I spent."
"We checked our Santo Taco for the birria tacos and they did not disappoint! The last time we had this type of taco was in Miami. Santo Taco's version of birria is fabulous. The combo of melted cheese and shredded beef with some dipping sauce really hit the spot! The carne asada taco had a wonderful flavor. The al pastor tacos were good and the fish taco was massive (they use tilapia). The place was very clean with lots of dine in options available (and obviously take out as well). The staff was great and attentive. They helped steer us in the right direction as this was our first visit. The taco options are plentiful. We chose the tacos we like the most but they have a wide variety (and a couple options for vegetarians). Prices are very reasonable. All tacos are sold individually (with the exception of the two birria taco plate which saves you a couple bucks if you want more than one.....which you will). The experience and tacos were great! We'll definitely be back."
