"Tonight felt like a bait and switch situation. We booked a reservation for Valentine’s Day, and checked out the menu on their website with an expectation of both cost and food types. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised by a nice balloon arch and a live singer/guitarist. The rest of the surprises throughout the night were less than pleasant. The restaurant was only offering a set menu with prices that rivaled popular upscale steak houses in the valley ($95 per person for a three course meal). This was not mentioned on the website anywhere. We asked about this, and the only place this was announced was on Instagram, which is silly. This seemed almost intentional, since this is the only restaurant in the area. We drove 30 minutes to come here and did not have other readily available options. The food quality was poor and nowhere near on par with the price we paid. The only passable items were the lobster bisque and the chocolate cake. I ordered a filet as a medium, and it came out rare. My husband ordered the chicken and risotto. The chicken was dry and the risotto had bits of undercooked rice. Our server was dealing with disgruntled patrons, and multiple tables walking out either within minutes of sitting down, or shortly after the first course. In the hour and a half we were there, we saw five couples leave prematurely. With that said, our server tried to make the best of the night, was attentive, and made attempts to correct my steak. Overall, we walked away feeling sorry for the staff present, and disappointed with a somewhat shady-feeling experience. We will not be back."

"I visited the new Royal on Ridge on a wintry evening and it had such a beautiful first impression. The staff was very busy and engaged but didn't keep me waiting at all. I did a takeout order of Blanco pizza, Royal Top Wings, and Blanco Ravioli. We really enjoyed the pizza and ravioli and I would recommend those to any of my friends, but the wings weren't great this visit. I expected them to be grilled, as noted in the menu, but they were fried and very overcooked. The sauce that came with them was very good! I'm still giving this 5 stars because 2 out of 3 dishes really were fantastic, but I'll have to give the wings another go on another night."

"Great brunch experience! Our server was very friendly and the price was equally as good. This is an overall solid spot to choose in terms of atmosphere. This isn’t the place to choose if you’re looking for great food- I would stick with appetizers here. But again, great spot for atmosphere and drinks! Thanks again."

"Oh the Ridge comes so close to providing a unique ski lodge atmosphere with pretty good food. The views are amazing and you really have this cozy yet contemporary feel. It doesn't feel haughty. Just enough to feel good. The food is good in general but the bad ones really fall to the floor. The potato skins were pretty well done, while the glazed pork belly started to show some blandness. Lasagna was absolutely disappointing with chili and spicy ingredients mixed into it. And the carrot cake wasn't really hearty and well made (maybe a cake mix). Compared to the price, it was a solid experience. Great selection of beer and drinks. Will absolutely return. I just want them to tighten it up slightly for the extra star."
