"Saw him in 2019. First pregnancy knew nothing of what to expect. Would like to note I am a woman of color and he came highly highly highly recommended by a white coworker of mine. Bcz I was scared and this was my first pregnancy I took a chance based on all the wonderful things she had to say about her experience and booked an appointment. Bed side manner nice enough. It’s not like he was blatantly rude. BUT did not listen to ANY of my concerns. Was completely dissmissive, everything I was worried about or any pains I brought to his attention was deemed “normal” “expected” and waved off as if I was just being dramatic. I say all this to say I am struggling with same severe pain pregnant with my second and have been diagnosed with pelvic girdle pain. I have a treatment plan in place and told this NOT something I just have to deal with during pregnancy. Which means bcz I was NOT listened to the FIRST time, I was made to feel that I was weak, and had to suffer through extreme pain the entire 40 weeks when I DIDNT HAVE TO. He also made a comment about me “having been through this before” and I had to remind him several times this was my FIRST pregnancy! I hadn’t been through anything which is why I had so many questions and concerns! And when I hasd my cervix checked-no warning, no walk though, no words of comfort, just ROUGHNESS. I practiclly crawled backwards away from him and he acted as if I was being dramatic. It was so horrible and tramautic. Bottom line, dissmissive, didnt listen, and wasnt even there in time to deliver my son bcz he was sleeping. A first time nurse on the job was the only one in the room when my son came and didnt even know what to do. Armstrong arrived in time to sew me up. Did a good job at that at least. Never seeing him again. Highly recommend Dr Julie Wiley!!!!!!!!! So blessed to have found her! And be properly diagnosed so that I DONT HAVE TO SUFFER my entire pregnancy! Also saw alot of neg reviews on Lakeside nurses/receptionist. I have to say—they were the BEST of my experience there. Armstrong’s nurse is a saint."

"He delivered my first baby, I was very young and scared & he helped me and walked me through everything , Armstrong made me feel comfortable he would even asked about how my school was going ! He actually cared and listens . If I lived closer I would definitely go back to him as my obgyn. I didn’t like the receptionist tho, very rude ."

"Dr Armstrong was my OB and delivered my first. Now we are pregnant with twins and he is very informative about what is happening and different things to expect, and possible risks. He takes the time to make sure all questions are answered and is genuinely concerned for you and baby(ies) and very personable. His staff and hospital staff follows suit and are there to help any way they can."

"He had a good bed side manner but when I went in telling him I was in labor he didn't listen. I was sent home and my child died that day. I would never recommend a doctor that doesn't listen to his patients!"
