"The first thing you should know is that we were a party of 7 with reservations at 5:30 I am a huge fan of good traditional Margarita pizza, I'm far more likely to order the Margarita than anything else. I always do my very best to give you both good and bad... this is going to be no exception. The pizza was definitely cooked in a stone hearth oven with thin and crispy crust . it had the tell tale little patches on the edge of the crust... little slightly burned patches, that you expect to see from a stone hearth pizza oven. the cooking process was spot on. The pizza was not over baked, and I would rate the overall cooking very high. There's the positive.... Stella's bills themselves as an Italian establishment (so they set the standard of what to expect). Ive eaten Italian in 10-15 countries (to include multiple locations in Italy), and I know what a great Margarita should taste like. They use grated mozzarella and not fresh mozzarella, and they use so much that you can't find or taste the red sauce... so there is an overwhelming level of cheese for an Italian Pizza. The crust while crisp with just the right degree of firmness, had little to no flavor. While there was a fairly large quantity of fresh shredded basil on the pizza, it had obviously been added prior to cooking, rather than after.... so you lost the bright green you expect... I've had balsamic added to my Margarita a couple of times, and I will have to say it wasn't overly strong and was generally pleasant. I did eat the pizza, and it was sufficient, but as an Italian pizza, I would give it a middle of the road rating. My son ordered an Italian soda and the lasagna. One of his favorite meals is lasagna so it was a pretty easy decision for him. The Italian soda very much tasted like a Sprite with cream added. It was OK, but not great. Near the end of the meal, I was watching my son and he was eating his food very slowly. I tried some... I wish I would have tried it much earlier as I would have definitely sent it back. the pasta was very overcooked (to the point of almost mushy and slimy). I don't even know how to describe the meat sauce... it had flavors I am completely unfamiliar with, but it was certainly not a traditional tomato-based sauce flavor... additionally the meat had a very grainy texture to it. My wife ordered the Tagliatelle AL Felito, and described it as unremarkable. The bread and herbed olive oil they start the meal with is very good. the bread is soft and warm.... but be warned, any additional bread will add $2 to the bill... not outrageous, but something to be aware of. The price for what you get is on the high side... not the most expensive Italian meal I've had, but when you compare price to quality I would definitely rate it as overpriced. Now the setting and staff... the setting is awesome. Very comfortable chairs, just the right lighting... and I love sitting and eating y meal while I am able to see into the kitchen. I really do enjoy watching how the food is prepared. The waitress seemed friendly and capable. Remember how I said that our party was 7 early on in the dinner time frame. Food industry wide, it is generally expected that parties of 6 or more will take 90-120 minutes for a reservation from sit down to departure. At the 60 minute mark, they were clearing the table and making multiple remarks of incoming reservations and they needed the tables. From sit down to the time we opened the door and left, it was almost exactly 65 minutes. I've never once been invited to leave like that... if we were a party of 2-4, 60 minutes is more than enough time to order, get the food, eat, and depart... but not for 7. If a restaurant has over-reserved and not allowed adequate time for reserved parties (based upon group size), that is a management and administrative error, not an overstay of paying guests. Overall I would rate the experience as poor. No one walked away sick from the food, so it is not the worst dining experience I've had, but it was pretty poor. We will not be returning."
"We were visiting Ogden for the first time and celebrating our friends’ anniversary. This restaurant was well rated, and it did not disappoint. The ambiance was very nice, and our server was very attentive & friendly. We enjoyed our dinner. The seafood dishes were fresh and tasty."
"Went here recently with some friends. We really liked it! Reservations were a little behind so we ended up waiting for a little bit before we were able to get a table. We tried a few different wines, the Josh Cabernet being a favorite for a Red wine & Gabbiano Pinot being our favorite white wine. We loved the bread they bring out! Unfortunately they do charge for more bread, something that wasn’t a big deal but something to be aware of. My boyfriend loved the Caesar salad! Highly recommends this! He can’t stop talking about it. Said it was the best he’s had in a while & wants to go back solely for this salad. I ordered the minestrone soup & it was so sad looking. Mostly just broth with 1 piece of chicken. I’m not sure if it was only like this because it was near the end of the night or if it’s always just broth. I was shocked they served this to me & didn’t just say they were out. The regular salads looked good too. We ordered the Chicken Saltimbocca. Chicken seemed a little bland, not a ton of flavoring & the potatoes on this dish were way too garlicy. Wasn’t our favorite dish. We also ordered the Beef Stroganoff & this dish was delicious!! The steak strips in this dish were cooked to perfection! We will definitely be back for this dish & the Caesar salad!"
"I stopped by because I wanted to treat myself and try someplace new. I definitely made the right choice! This is one of my favorite places I've visited since I moved to Ogden. The food was amazing (ESPECIALLY the bread, I could eat a whole meal just of that!, but the creme brulee was also a highlight), and my server, Eric, was incredibly friendly and helpful. He helped me decide what to order, and then while I was waiting for my food (a to-go order) he took the time to chat a bit since it was between the lunch and dinner rush and the place was nearly empty. When he found out I was new to town, he told me a little about the history of the building and Ogden, and even let me look around the underground speakeasy in the basement while I waited for my food. The atmosphere down there is UNBELIEVABLE, so if you like alcohol and would like to experience the vibe of a Prohibition Speakeasy, I highly recommend (though I don't drink, so I can't speak to the beverages themselves). I only took photos of the speakeasy because the food smelled so good I forgot to photograph it. It is not super cheap, but the food, service, and atmosphere are completely worth the price."
"The atmosphere is absolutely incredible here. The food was ok, just not stellar. And the service was unfortunately very slow. We were honestly there for over 2 hours. Our waitress also never checked back for drinks or needed things, nor was our table cleaned up periodically. I would suggest working on the service particularly."
