Reviews of Ascent Academies of Utah Farmington Campus
"We transferred to Ascent after an extremely bad experience at Endeavour Elementary in Farmington. Ascent has been an absolutely amazing school. We love all the teachers. After our difficult experience at the other school all four of my kids are now thriving. This school knows how to help kids that fit outside the box. They have the ability, patience, and time to help kids who are both above and below grade level. The teachers and staff have made all my kids feel safe and loved. The class sizes are small and their education has been such a positive experience. I can't say enough good things, we love ASCENT ACADEMY!"
"I have taught Kindergarten at Ascent Academies of Utah-Farmington since we opened in 2014. I brought both of my daughters with me. My oldest was part of the gifted program in the Davis school district. I was blown away by the enrichment her teachers integrated into the classroom. When I heard about Ascent and their mission, I immediately jumped at the opportunity to be a part of this engaging method of teaching. Ascent follows SEM, the Schoolwide Enrichment Model. SEM was founded on the success and engagement found when curriculum in the gifted program was enriched. If this method of teaching was successful in engaging our most gifted students, why would it not be beneficial for all students? We believe that each and every student is gifted in some way. Our mission is to help our students be successful in the classroom, find their gifts and talents and engage them in the learning process. Our students are taught through all the different learning styles. They learn to express that knowledge using different expressions styles such as; art, technology, written, service and more. Our goal is to have our students leave us excited about the learning process and more knowledgeable about their strengths in the learning process. I love SEM! I’m grateful that I found a school that has a mission that matches with my mission as an educator. Learning and teaching should be active, fun and engaging. When my kinders leave me; I want them to be confident in their strengths, excited about learning and knowledgeable in the importance of being a good friend and human. The littlest hearts and minds will someday grow up to change the world. How incredible is it that we as educators, parents and bystanders get to be apart of their growth and understanding?!"
"We have had a wonderful experience over the past 4 years at Ascent. The teachers are wonderful, the staff is great and the smaller class sizes are a huge benefit. Looking forward to many more years at this school!"
"I want to say that We have had our daughter in Ascent Academy for two years and going forward a third! Mr. Reid the principal is a very hardworking dedicated man he works so well with the staff to provide for the needs of the students. He puts in the time and effort to get to know and connect with the students. I have seen him personally out at the crossing guard helping students get safely into school in the morning. I have seen him power washing the yucky bird nest off of the front of the school to prepare the school for back to school. I have seen him shoveling snow and salting the sidewalk of the school early in the cold Utah morning weather. I have seen him encourage the students cheering them on at fun run. I have seen him coordinate the checking out Crome books to students and families to be able to do virtual school during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have seen him get soaked from water balloons for student challenges to continue to read during summer break. The school require uniforms which we have really liked. They have small class sizes with a teacher and teacher assistant in each class. We plan on sending our second daughter next year as well. We love ascent they send emails and are very good at communicating for activities and special days and phone calls for late start do to weather and dress down days. You can check on your child’s progress in canvas on what work they have turned in and what their test scores are and what if any assignments are missing ect. There is also the app clever that the kids do learning apps like imagine learning typing imagine math ABC learning and science apps so when we had covid my child continued learning through those apps while we got set up on zoom meetings and modules on canvas. We got to have in school learning face to face Monday through Friday last year with masks of course and cleaning minimal cases of covid. The school is amazing they focus on where your child is in their learning and find out what their learning style is and work with them to continue learning at their pace. My daughter loves learning and reading and we feel like she has been able to be stretched and challenged in each grade and not felt stunted, boarded or waiting for anyone. I can’t say enough good things about this school."
"We’ve spent the last 3 years at this school with 2 kids and so far the experience has been wonderful. All of our kids teachers have been great. The school is always so clean, and the staff has been friendly. Both our kids are excited to go to school every morning so that’s a great sign too."
