"We have been loyal customers for a while we moved and switched our location to Saratoga petco. Last time we went she was a little scared and was shaking while grooming. The groomer finished grooming and said she was scared. Next time we try booking an appointment that groomer is no longer working the place is closed. I call another petco and they inform me my dog was referred out and marked unsafe to groom. It's an 8 year old 14 lbs dog who has been groomed her entire life with no problems. Just because she was shaking one day it doesn't mean she needs to be marked unsafe and referred out from the place she has been grommed for a long time. Very frustrating. This is not how you take care of your loyal customers."
"The groomer cut my dog’s ear. The manager called to tell me my dog “was perfectly fine” but was being transported to an emergency vet hospital 25 minutes away. My dog had to have a full surgery to repair the damage. Petco said I didn’t need to worry about the cost of the groom or the vet bill. Really?!? How about offering me a gift card so I can buy treats and toys to distract my dog while she heals in a cone and hood for the next 14 days? This is so unfair to her and a total inconvenience for our family who had plans to travel after thanksgiving but now someone will have to stay home because we cannot trust anyone to properly tend to her ear or administer medicines. I was at the animal hospital for over 4 hours and not a single call or text from petco to see how my dog was doing. The manager who took her there left shortly after I arrived. I understand that accidents happen. But the initial misinformation, lack of apology, and general disregard for my dog has been utterly unprofessional and totally disappointing."
"We won't be going back for grooming.A Family member had taken our small dog for grooming 2 months prior while we were out of town. The charge was different than what I would have expected and thought maybe there was something unusual/extra they had to do. I called prior to taking our little guy this time and questioned the previous charges. The individual I spoke to was looking Into it and said he was listed as a medium dog and maybe that has something to do with it. But she wasn't sure so I thought I would ask about it when I dropped him off this time. The manager over grooming told me that maybe he was aggressive and sometimes they charge extra for that. I informed her that I had just asked about how his behavior was when I got the call that he was ready to be picked up and I was told he was docile, very calm. She said maybe the first time he visited was different with his demeanor, being new and all... I let her know the first time he visited our family member was also told he was docile, calm, not aggressive. Then she says had I brought this to her attention sooner she could have done something about it but not now, it's been 2 months. She was pretty rude. we will not be going back ever again. Very disappointing..... Good customer service goes a long way. We'll be sure to share this experience with all of our family and friends. Hopefully it will make a difference to someone considering using their grooming services."
"I would give zero stars if I could…we took our standard schnauzer puppy in today to get a grooming to clean him up for Christmas. We asked the groomer if she knew how to do a standard schnauzer cut and she assured us she did. We came back to a COMPLETELY SHAVED body. She removed his undercoat to the skin. She definitely thought he was a mini schnauzer, which we asked her if she knew the difference (there is a huge difference in a mini and standard schnauzers coat and grooming standard). He looks so bad I don’t know how she could have possibly thought she did a good job. We were too in shock to process what happened to our poor puppy. Stay far, far away. I will be calling for a refund and buying my puppy a shirt to hide this seriously bad grooming job for the next three months until it grows back. Even if he was a mini schnauzer this would have been one of the worst grooming jobs I’ve ever seen. This lady should have her trimmers taken away. She also said he spilled his water on himself in his crate, but turns out it was pee from him being so traumatized that we had to go home and give him a bath. $60 wasted and a traumatized dog is all we got. Never again. I’m usually a very easy going person and NEVER leave a bad review but it’s so bad it’s laughable. Actually, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Picture of what a standard schnauzer coat should look like and a picture of how our poor guy came home looking."
"Terrible experience. They completely shaved my dog. They said his hair was matted which wasn’t, all they had to do was bathe him and brush him. I specifically told them to be careful with his paws because he’s very sensitive with them and the lady still went ahead and cut the hair on his paws very short to the point where my dog started biting her WHEN I TOLD HER WHAT THE SITUATION WAS WITH HIS PAWS. He has wounds all over but on his neck and ear are very bad. I would have rather them call me and tell me that they did their best to groom him until he became difficult rather than have my dog go through all of that. He is now traumatized and very shy, he’s been hiding and doesn’t even want to get in the car. This is so unacceptable. I will not be bringing nor buying from petco anymore."
