"Excellent food!!! honestly I rather eat here then Texas Roadhouse. The little hole in the wall restaurants are always better then those dumb big chain restaurants and the owner is friendly and the vibe in here is welcoming. Burt ends, brisket and sausage was amazing so delicious. The mash potatoes great flavor and taste. The bbq sauce on the tables great variety of flavor. I recommend everyone to try it. I give it 10 out of 10. Price could be worked on a little but I understand being small and not a chain restaurant. Still a must have."
"We were not very impressed with the experience we had here. The sausage was tough and cold, the mashed potatoes were gummy and flavorless, and the pinto beans were way too salty. Not only that, the portions were tiny. We are headed somewhere else for another meal because it felt more like an appetizer. The burnt ends and pulled pork tasted pretty good and were tender, but the portion sizes were still pretty small. Also, as we were about to leave, we heard an employee tell someone they were out of half of their sides. It was only 6:30. Yes, I know they close at 7, but they need to have enough food for the entire day, especially since they close so early. We were really excited to try this place, especially since there aren’t many food options in the area, but we were unfortunately disappointed."
"The owner is an amazing, patriotic guy! The food is amazing! Love the food and atmosphere, the decorations are very patriotic and Texan. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food. Their Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes are some of my favorites and you can never go wrong with good, authentic, Texan Barbecue!"
"Very disappointed. Texan or not, this place is not good despite being highly reviewed. The chopped brisket was more like Sloppy Joe mix or some mystery meat you get at a military DFAC. The sausage seemed more like it was boiled and not smoked at all, very tough, not much flavor. The potatoes were like eating wax and again, not much flavor. The green beans actually weren’t terrible but that’s compared to everything else. For having a name that’s calling to people missing good Texas bbq, this place does not live up."
"I have wanted to try lost Texan bbq for years because Utah sucks for bbq. I finally got a chance today and I was disappointed. I should not spend $20 for 1 meal and still be hungry. I got a 2 meat plate for $16.99 plus an extra $3 for the sliced brisket. I am so mad at the brisket. It was dry and over cooked. The second meat I got was ribs, and they only give you 1 rib for your 2 meat plate. I don’t understand what the hype was with this place because who wants to spend $20 and only get 4 thin little dry pieces of brisket and 1 rib. The rib does not fall off the bone as it was also dry, but the rub they use had a good flavor. The other 2 meat plate we got 1 rib and a small helping of dry pulled pork. If you want good bbq, the only good here was the sides. Go to smokin bones in bountiful if you want good meat and sides. This does not live up to the Texas bbq expectation. Now, on to the sides. The Mac is homemade and I was happy with it. I would eat that Mac again. My favorite was the mashed potatoes. They were full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The bbq sauce is homemade and was good. They offer spicy and mild and I got one of each for both plates. On the pulled pork plate however, the bbq sauce was different. Loaded with vinegar so their bbq sauce maybe is not made the same every batch I don’t know what happened but they were completely not the same as the mild and spicy on my plate. Consistency is key and it was missing. Service was good, I’m just really sad about the meat. My expectations were let down."
