About the Business
Southwest Playhouse Fine Arts, located at 552 Nowahy Avenue in Clinton, Oklahoma, is a local community theater founded in 1965. Directed by Ashley Underwood, the playhouse presents a variety of entertaining plays, including the uproarious cast and crew of The Play That Goes Wrong. This smash hit farce by Mischief and Broadway masters of comedy is a hilarious 1920s whodunit where everything that can go wrong, does. Despite mishaps and mayhem, the accident-prone thespians strive to make it to their final curtain call with side-splitting consequences. Southwest Playhouse also offers a Summer Children's Camp and full show production of Disney's Newsies, providing a chance for young performers to learn acting, singing, and dancing skills while being part of the iconic story of the newsboys strike of 1899. Enrollment opens on March 1st, so don't miss out! Southwest Playhouse is supported by the Oklahoma Arts Council and community patrons, and offers season tickets for those interested in enjoying a season of entertaining plays.

Reviews
"The theatre in the round is cool, but we're at the intermission and they haven't used the full stage yet. Also, their concession stand is not set up to take credit or debit cards so bring cash or starve."
"Fantastic show! Fantastic actors. Fantastic fun!"
"We saw Beauty and the Beast. It was great. The stage is in the center and they use various parts of the theater for the scenes. It does make it hard to see where things are happening at times but it does make for an emersive experience. The set, effects choreography, singing, dancing and acting were all amazing."
"The building that the playhouse is in was originally known as the exhibit and auction building. It was build as part of the U.S. government's Work Progress Administration program"
"Good plays, but some of the actors /actresses seem to only be in it because they've been around for so long. They could do without those people as speaking parts. Some of those roles really get lost with older actors/actresses who either can't keep up or are too quie. Seats are tight and uncomfortable, but not terrible. Sound and lighting is great."
