Before we knew it, there was a call from an adjuster regarding our pick-up truck and in a blink of an eye we surrendered our pick-up and was driving our new purchase. The same with the adjuster for our home and property. An adjuster came, we received a check, our roof, gutters and other things were replaced. All in the blink of an eye! Shelter gave us good coverage and we lacked for nothing! We've been with Shelter over 15 years. I have researched from time to time to see if there were better rates or coverage. There is no one that can beat Shelter insurance for home or auto. Yes, good quality value, responsive and professional!"

"Steve Copeland of Copeland Insurance is a very nice person but unfortunately Shelter Insurance is no longer worth having (in my opinion). I have had my car insurance with Shelter Insurance for about 13 years. Two years ago I purchased my first home and of course I purchased total replacement insurance with Shelter Insurance. In 2014/2015, rates went up an insane rate of 34% but I stuck with them thinking I had quality insurance. In May, 2015 my home suffered severe hail damage and I filed my first and last house claim with Shelter Insurance. With any business, it is when there is a problem and how they handle it, determines a company’s worth. It is now September 22, 2015 and I still have no resolution with my claim. I paid for total replacement but my adjuster severely underfunded my claim. I had a totaled house roof, storage building roof, and garage door, two sides of house paint and one interior room of my house. This month I was forced to have my house roofed by non-English speaking roofers (possibly illegal aliens) to prevent further damage inside my leaking home (roof). I had to get seven roofing bids to find one even close to what Shelter Insurance was willing to pay because that is what my "total replacement insurance" would almost fund. On October 2, 2015, I ended up getting an adjusted payment on my house paint but still got screwed over on other items but this was after I spent about 4 hours writing and posting negative reviews (Yelp, Angie’s List, Google Maps, Shelter Insurance Facebook page, etc.) to get someone’s attention. On October 1, 2015 my insurance started with the "Good Hands People" and I hope I'm treated better than how I have been treated with Shelter Insurance. I have no idea if this was an isolated incident as my agent stated or that Shelter Insurance uses a particular computer program that under pays claims as numerous roofing contractors stated to me."
