"I was disappointed with this year's version of the Nutcracker. It felt like the actual story was an afterthought and the main plot was a circus. The dancers were magnificent."
"My daughter enjoys dancing here. Both locations have nice facilities. Tulsa Ballet is better postured to offer experiences like complimentary tickets to different shows that other dance places might not. They also have wonderful people who remember your name. For children looking to dance professionally, I wouldn't look anywhere else than here. They never cease to amaze me."
"Our girls enjoyed ballet here for 2 years. It's sad to see the young dancers standing around outside smoking however. We commented on it and were told "they smoke to stay thin". That's not the type of role model we want and pulled the girls out. Very sad to think that's OK and some girls connect the 2."
"MY wife and I attended the Saturday September 18, 2021 Creations in Studio K performance. WOW it was great! We are new to the Tulsa Ballet world. We planned an entire evening around this performance, Hotel reservations, Dinner reservation and late night cocktails with friends, All within waking distance. We saw the add in the Tulsa World and though, lets check it all out. My only complaint is with the PAC not stating the location of the performance. We had no clue. We walked to dinner, then the to the PAC. Once at the PAC the staff informed us that we needed to go to 45th and Peoria. They commented this happens all the time. I know how you can fix it, how about on the face of the tickets make a statement that Studio K is not at the PAC. We had to walk back to the hotel then drive to Tulsa Ballet Studio K location. Please if you want new people to be apart of the Ballet and the PAC help us out. This not anything against the artist or the performance, We 100% enjoyed it. Once we final arrived late."
"I was a student there for 3 years in their upper school and also was a part of their summer intensives. I made so much improvement while I was there and for that I am so grateful. I was in love with ballet, but that was quickly ruined by the treatment i received while a student here..About a year before I left, I got shin splints that turned into a stress fracture that I am still dealing with today. This happened two years ago. I was told that I was being dramatic because I could hardly even walk when I was first injured. I was encouraged to keep going and made to feel so badly about myself because if my injury. I felt like I was a failure because I wasn’t able to dance how I usually would. I had many great experiences with my teachers but my last year there, I was treated so horribly. The injury progressed throughout the year and eventually turned into a full blown stress fracture. They made me think it was all in my head and made me feel absolutely terrible about myself because of it. It’s really hard to write this publicly but I just don’t want anyone else to go through what I have. I wasn’t the only one. I’m fact, most of the girls in the upper school have left because of how toxic the environment was. Between the hardesty and brookside campus, there were 17 girls in my level in 2018-2019. Now there is only one left. This kind of treatment is pretty common the ballet world but at TB, everyone thought that it was normal and was willing to ignore it because the teaching was so great. I have been cursed at by a teacher there as a 12 year old. This is not a place where your children will excel. They may learn proper technique, but it’s not worth it. It makes me so sad that they are seen as such an amazing school. Don’t send your child here."
