"This is an old property in need of a substantial upgrade. There are some renovations underway in the lobby area and the rooms have received a fresh coat of paint, but all of this is akin to putting lipstick on a pig. The room systems..A/C, plumbing, hardware, doors, shower, etc...all remain the same as before. The hallways were tattered with new carpet needed. There is a Hampton Inn nearby, which will be our hotel on our next drive through Childress."
"Rough hotel. Beds were comfy but that's about it. This is an older property. Pool was gross...cloudy, green water and leaves floating around (and this is an indoor pool) and the pool room was not heated, looked like no maintenance had been done in many months. Appears the hotel started on a remodel but ran out of money and now it's beat up but with some very poorly done new work dispersed around. To be clear every part of this hotel is run down. Homeless guys were legit shooting up in the parking lot. It's bad you guys, the front desk clerk sleeps in a cot behind the reception counter. Breakfast the pancake machine is busted, they couldn't keep up with hot coffee. What do you expect for Childress TX, this is west Texas panhandle cowboy country after all."
"Asked the white lady in a blue encrusted hat working the desk for an extra comforter. Said she didn’t have any… as if it wasn’t a hotel with beds and comforters. Place is falling apart. Dangerous “construction areas” that look like they haven’t been dealt with in years. Honestly, I don’t even blame the workers. I blame Holiday inn and the soulless corporate boot licking suit wearing yes men that own the place."
"The overall vibe was dirty and not well maintained. No hot water pressure at the sink, the lamp by the couch is broken, patches on the wall that never got painted, the shower looked dirty and gross, and the TV remote didn’t work in my room. The doors don’t have soft close so in the morning the doors were all slamming and woke me up. Just judging by the rooms and the horrible craftsmanship of everything I feel like the beds are probably not cleaned any better. Stay somewhere else this hotel should be $50. Breakfast is the same as everywhere else."
