"Went to see Doctor harway for a vain procedure. Did not turn out very well still having issues with my right leg every time I went in for a checkup it was always we might have to do something else and still having problems with my right leg will not go back to him again the nurses and the front desk was very professional and very kind and caring but as far as the doctor not very good 20 years ago went to the same Clinic for same procedure and everything went fine 20 years later it's not doing good different doctor so sad cost a lot of money and got bad results so I need to so I need to look for another vein specialist."
"I wish I knew then what I know now almost 5 years later after Dr. Haraway’s negligence in my care. He performed a vascular procedure on me in 2017. He talked me into an actual procedure when I initially only went for superficial varicose vein treatment. He told me that shutting off the deeper vein would give me more mobility and make it to where my right leg wasn’t so hot. Mind you I was born with a syndrome (KTS) vascular abnormality in short that I made this physician well aware of so that he would consider that before treating me in any kind of way. At the time he said he’d treated one patient before with my condition so I thought to give him a chance but keep in mind I didn’t have any thought of an actual procedure but only getting rid of the superficial varicose veins!! He then referred me out for some testing to rule out DVT with other tests. Although DVT was ruled out, there was something else that was discovered in those tests which was a PFO!!! After he reviewed the tests he informed me that I had a PFO but that it wasn’t a big deal & that lots of people have them but often don’t know because it usually doesn’t cause any problems. From there I felt ok enough to allow him to do the procedure trusting that he had my best interest but that couldn’t have been further from the truth!!! The procedure itself went pretty smooth but after a couple of months my leg was swollen more so then what it ever had been before, I voiced my concerns about it being bigger & more swollen but they blamed it on me not wearing my compression stockings everyday even though it made the leg worse in terms of feeling like it was cutting off my circulation completely!!! About 3 months after the procedure I suffered a stroke at the age of 25 because a clot formed in my leg and went through the PFO & then to my brain!!! After being admitted for a couple of days in the hospital at Southcrest the Neurologist told me after looking at my medical history he seen no history of any prior strokes and said that he believes the stroke was caused from the procedure that created the clot causing the clot to go through the hole in my heart!!! In 2019 I went to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for a work up regarding my KTS and told them about my previous history (stroke) and the fact that I had had a vascular procedure with having a PFO!!! At that point the physicians there told me that I SHOULD HAVE NOT HAD THAT KIND OF PROCEDURE DONE WITH A PFO!!!! They told me that they refused to do any other procedures on me until I got the PFO closed!!!! Now 5 years later I suffer from bad lymphedema & poorer circulation throughout my body!!! My advice to anyone that already has vascular problems, when he refers you out for testing & if it comes back that you have a PFO DO NOT LET HIM TALK YOU INTO A VASCULAR PROCEDURE!!! HELL EVEN IF YOU DON’T HAVE A PFO DON’T LET HIM TOUCH YOU!! I’m NOT more mobile like he said I’d be & now my leg is constantly swollen & in pain!!!! He just wanted the money & didn’t care what happened to the patient!!! I had good insurance that covered everything up to 100% so he was fully compensated!!! I don’t recommend this physician at all neither his rude & disrespectful wife!!! Like I said if only I had knew then what I know now then I would’ve never allowed him to talk me into this!!!! I hope you read this and can make a wise decision for yourself."
