"The wife and I were 25+ year patients. When VIPcare bought out Harvard Family Physicians, the “Family” part ceased to exist Our doctor was forced to choose between Medicare patients and patients on private insurance leaving us both with dry little notification to an acceptable PCP. The wife transferred to a Dr. Shu that is fresh out of school and it showed. She had no idea what she was doing and her bedside manner was non-existent. We advised her that we were firing her and had planned to go with a different on staff doctor. Dr. Shu in turn sent us a “your fired letter and reported my wife to office management as hostile. Were then notified that my wife had been black balled and was not allowed to see any other staff doctors. All of this happening right at the height of an illness that is still undiagnosed leaving my wife to scramble for a competent PCP. Just today (03/20) I received a letter stating that I was no longer a patient of Dr. Griffiths due ‘to “hostile words used towards the staff in May 2023. This event never happened. I was also black balled for unknown reasons. Also, the letter sent to me didn’t even have a legitimate signature from Dr. Griffiths. I’ve seen his signature for 25+ years. It was not his signature. Shameful business practices. Extremely disappointed by what transpired. Upper management COULD NOT CARE ANY LESS! Do not come a patient at VIPcare."
"My parents were both patients there for over 25 years with Dr. David Griffiths and have both been treated HORRIBLY by the new staff at this office since it became VIPCARE. My mom was treated by a “new” doctor after being forced away from Dr. Griffiths that couldn’t have cared less about her and her growing ailments and then FIRED her after she questioned the doctor’s bedside manner. My dad was also FIRED just today for using “foul” language with staff in an event the letter states happened over a year ago so why wait a year to dismiss him? …shameful business practice. Seems this office and its pitiful staff don’t like to to be questioned no matter the circumstance. I would not recommend this office to my worst enemy and hope that they don’t treat other people’s aging parents in such an awful way. Just appalling. STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE!"
"I called this morning to see if there were any available appointments and instead of coming back on the line with an answer about an open appointment, they connected me to the billing office. The billing office wanted me to pay my balance before even letting me know if they had any available appointments. I get this for accounts that go many months over due, but you don’t have the courtesy to tell me if there are any available appointments first? My bill was not past 60 or 90 days. Maybe train your staff on customer service and how to appropriately address situations like this."
"I’ve been a patient with Harvard Family Physicians for 10 yrs. For the second time in as many years, I’ve received a notice that I must start over with a new primary care physician. I understand VIP Care is intended for patients over 65 & it seems this is a group that should be the last to be tossed around from new doctor to new doctor. If the intent is to force their elderly patients out of this practice, then this is a great way to do that, though it seems cruel & lacks compassion for those of us who are at a time in our lives that we need more medical care & don’t adjust well to constant changes. I will find a new senior care physician now that I’ve seen twice how much HFP& VIP Care value their patients."
"Was informed when I made my appointment that I couldn’t see Dr Krautter any more, as he was now Medicare/medicaid only. Okay, fine. They referred me to another doctor which I’ve never seen before. I missed the appointment due to extenuating circumstances, the first and only one in the entire time we’ve been patients here (since July of 2018). I received an email and text stating to call or go online and reschedule. I called to do so, and was told since I was seeing a new Dr, I was no longer considered an existing patient, and that new patients are blacklisted after any missed appointments. The woman informing me of this said that if I had seen any of the other doctors that have previously seen me, that would not be the case. I was not offered when I booked the appointment to see any of the doctors I have previously seen. There was zero communication when booking this appointment that I was no longer considered a patient, even though this has been my only primary care physicians office since 2018. I will gladly go elsewhere if this is how business is run. I fully understand missed appointments are not good for business, but ONE missed appointment between 2018 and 2024? Honestly, run, don’t walk, to a different PCP."
