"I can't speak for the entire counseling staff but the one woman I had wasn't helpful or effective. As for the psychiatrist, I've been seeing him for 2 1/2 years. I often times need to be seen the same day and they can always do it even with a full schedule. He has a good understanding of the medications he prescribes (some do not!), he isn't afraid to try new things, and he's very knowledgeable about illnesses. He is honest and straightforward! As for the previous reviews, I imagine if a person felt that emergency hospitalization was their only answer- visiting a sister whom she'd undoubtedly see again, should be the furthest thing from that person's mind. In fact, if she and her sister are so close, why would sister leave the country while this one is having a psychiatric emergency? I guess his honesty might get him in trouble occasionally but some people need that wake up call, especially those of us that need help mentally. The man is the chief of psychiatry for Norman regional. He knows what he's doing."

"I have a mental illness and very low self esteem. I checked into Norman regional hospital for help with this. While in this hospital my sister had to leave the county. I wanted to leave to say goodbye, but he said " how long have you known your sister?" Confused, I answered him. He then said it was stupid for me to leave. I went in there because I had low self esteem and felt hopeless. I can't imagine why he thought it was okay to intentionally make someone who felt like that feel stupid. He is a cruel man. For a person who deals with people with mental illness, he has no regard for others feelings. I can only think that he became a psychiatrist for the money. Because he clearly doesn't want to help people. I DO NOT recommend him as a psychiatrist. I went in to hep me with my self esteem and thanks to him I felt worse about myself after I left. Your doctor shouldn't call you stupid."

"Worst counseling experience I have ever had. I was screamed at during my entire session and left in tears. The staff was completely unhelpful and would not help me get my medication refilled before I began withdrawing from it. Would not recommend to anyone! If you're considering going here, keep looking!"
