"I have followed Dr. Erin Allen for 15 plus years. I appreciate that Dr. Allen listens to me. I have never felt that she rushes me out the door. Whatever health concerns, or questions, I have she gets me through it. I try to be considerate of other patients because I know the longer she spends time talking to me or answering a bunch of questions, I know that there are other patients that are waiting to be seen as well. I had to come back on here an edit my review. I was told by Dr. Allen nurse Amber that I will still be under Dr. Allen care until November of 2023 Dr. Allen will start seeing patients 65 and older. I was in the ER in October at OU Medical cause I work downtown. The ER doctor asked that I follow up with my primary doctor immediately. I talk to the front desk as I explained what was going on they said they will put my message as a priority no one every called me back...It was like saying we no longer need to care for you although I was still under Dr. Allen care. " I THOUGHT" she cared. For the first time I had finally down loaded the MY MERCY APP. about 2 months ago and boy there were doctors on my account that made notes of things they checked me for my mouth dropped. I can understand an ER visit... but a doctor that hasn't ever touched me , nor checked me for anything in his notes raises a red flag. I will follow up with that situation tho..It is the fact that once I had gotten the app it wasn't long that I was blocked from the app. I called and talk to another nurse and she stated she didn't know why it was coming up blocked. Then the nurse called me back and stated the patients that are no longer establishing care with Dr. Allen that it clears you out the system. I will keep the ratings at 5 because over the years Dr. Allen wasn't a bad doctor. I actually liked her. Towards the end is when it was all bad."
"I waited to form an opinion of this Dr. because my first visit was less than ideal, but figured maybe it wasn’t always this way, but now I can say I have not felt cared for by Dr. Allen at all. She is extremely rushed in her appointments and has not taken time to listen to me. Not friendly. Staff is snippy. No one here is helpful. I will be finding a different PCP."
"Love Dr Allen, she paying attention to my every need. even provide me with material so that I can better understand my concerns. Very personable and attentive."
"I have been a patient for a decade, but I have a mixed review of this practice. Dr. Allen seems patient and kind, but I usually have a long wait in the room and feel rushed through my appointment. The nurses don't always look carefully at your data so you may have repeated tests when you don't need them. Once, my husband was forgotten in the exam room during one of his appointments. The Dr. was going to come back and just never did. Also, the Mercy billing system is totally bonkers, and for several years running I've had unpleasant surprises on my bills that I have disputed to no end. Make sure you find out in advance how they will code procedures and check with your insurance before doing anything. You might think, for example that recommended blood work on your annual check up would be covered as preventative care since it is a recommended part of the annual exam even if you have no issues, but it was coded as non-preventative and so it wasn't covered on my (good) insurance plan. Also, don't ask a single question more than what you set your appointment for. You may be asked to come back for a separate appointment, or billed for another visit. I think this is probably more of a Mercy problem than Dr. Allen or her staff, so I'd say 3.5 stars for the practice overall, but I have to take a star off for the medical coding issues. Mercy needs to take a look at how their practices are keeping people from seeking healthcare and leading to bigger problems in the long run."
"Dr. Allen is amazing. She goes out of her way to take care of me and my family. Her nurse, Ashley is great too. I love this office! I was there the week of 12/14/2017"
