Reviews of Rustic Chophouse
"Rustic Chophouse, touted as an “upscale steakhouse” in Broken Arrow’s historic Rose District, promises a blend of art and taste in its cuisine. With claims of indulgent cocktails, impeccable meal preparation, and an immersive atmosphere, coupled with an empty stomach, I set out to indulge. The atmosphere at Rustic exudes elegance, boasting modern design with subtle rustic charm. Warm yellow lighting, lofty ceilings, and wood accents create a welcoming ambiance, aligning perfectly with expectations of an upscale steakhouse. Seated at the bar, we found comfortable seats bathed in well-appointed lighting, with a display of libations setting the stage for a delightful dining experience. Our servers, Alexis and Ty, stood out for their impeccable service. Alexis, with three years at Rustic, demonstrated the restaurant's commitment to its staff. Her expertise extended beyond service; she showcased her mixology skills with a creamy, delectable, sweet orange dreamsicle libation. Her attentiveness in describing the menu enhanced our experience, demonstrating dedication to meeting our needs. The food journey started promisingly with the RC Beef + FRIP, featuring beef tenderloin atop a house-made potato chip, adorned with blue cheese and Amarena cherry. Visually stunning, each bite offered a symphony of flavors. However, the smoked duck, served on a latke with creme fraiche and blueberry jam, impressed with its presentation but lacked depth in flavor. The charcuterie board, while aesthetically pleasing, lacked accompaniments, detracting from the overall experience. The Manhattan lobster bisque, however, stood out with its rich blend of flavors. The main course, an 18-ounce porterhouse steak with house bearnaise sauce, disappointed. The visibly split sauce resembled scrambled eggs, while the steak, ordered rare-to-medium/rare, arrived unevenly cooked, with most pieces medium-to-well done. The sides fared no better; the mild mushroom mac and cheese had cold cheese on top and a texture reminiscent of processed cheese, while the roasted Brussels sprouts were marred by an overly sweet sauce. We expressed our concerns to the manager, whose explanation of the bearnaise sauce's preparation added to our disappointment. Despite a 20% discount on our bill, the mishap in execution and preparation overshadowed the promising start. The evening ended without dessert, leaving a profound letdown. Overall, Rustic Chophouse's promising start was marred by disappointments in execution and preparation, particularly with the main courses and sides. While exceptional service from individuals like Alexis and Ty warrants appreciation, it's challenging to consider revisiting Rustic anytime soon amidst Tulsa's abundance of steakhouse options. Dining experiences are often a gamble, and this one leaned towards the losing end."
"Delicious food and great service. This restaurant was a really nice find. I would highly recommend making a reservation instead of just showing up. It is a small but warm and modern."
"Amazing place on Main Street in Broken Arrow. Initially we didn't see it on Google maps, but walked by it and looked up the menu and decided to give it a try. I would recommend reservations unless you want a seat at the window or bar. We arrived around 4pm and they we booked for the evening already. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. The Lobster Bisque might be the best I've ever had. I also can't say I've ever had duck, but the smoked duck appetizer was out of this world. I will definitely return when in the area. Everything was delicious and flavorful. A true gem in the heart of downtown."
"On Friday, January 19th, my husband and I visited Rustic ChopHouse in Broken Arrow. Given the restaurant's popularity and the usual long wait times, we were fortunate to find seating available at the bar. The service was good, though not exceptional. For starters, we ordered a tuna tartare and a charcuterie board. Unfortunately, the charcuterie board, particularly the cheeses, turned out to be the most disappointing part of our meal. They had a distinct refrigerator taste, indicating they had been pre-prepared and stored for too long. This, combined with the cold temperature of the caramelized nuts and macadamias, significantly detracted from our overall experience and was unexpected for such a busy and well-regarded restaurant. Reflecting on our visit, I feel that Rustic ChopHouse might be overrated. We initially chose simple appetizers to gauge the quality before potentially investing in more expensive main courses. However, the lack of freshness in what should have been straightforward appetizers left us questioning the value and quality of the more costly options. Despite our underwhelming experience, we believe in giving places a second chance. We plan to return to Rustic ChopHouse in the future, hoping for a more positive experience that aligns with its reputation. In conclusion, while Rustic ChopHouse enjoys a bustling atmosphere, our experience on January 19th, particularly with the charcuterie board, led us to believe that it may not live up to its high reputation, but we are open to revisiting our assessment after another visit."
"Can’t say enough about the food and service being so incredibly good. I wish I had gotten our servers name but she was absolutely wonderful. The timing of our food was spot on and made for a very enjoyable time. This isn’t an inexpensive place but it also not insanely expensive. I would consider it semi fine dining but yet very casual. 10 out of 10 highly recommend."
