Reviews of Sutherland Reservoir Campgrounds
"Campgrounds are in disrepair. Cannot see the reservoir from Campgrounds."
"The only reason I don’t give this reservoir a 5 star is because of the tick population there. Please know that your animals and yourself will have several if you get out of your vehicle. I have my dogs vaccinated and I always use a spray on myself and still find several when we return home. I have found other places to take my dogs swimming because of the huge issue! Now, for the good part. If you love to fish this is definitely a place you want to visit. I don’t believe I have ever left empty handed. You can catch big fish too. Several different species as well. A very pet friendly environment. The bathrooms are always clean. The reservoir is seldom over crowded. During the week we are often there alone. Very peaceful, clean and well maintained. If only the tick population was not so bad during the summer. We absolutely love it here during the winter months."
"I truly love this campground. Birds and trees, and a levy that surrounds it, made for a shady off-grid spot that was very pleasant. It is not even that far from the interstate, but far enough not to hear a sound. There is a $10 overnight camping fee and a $12 dollar park permit, but well worth it for the very serene private sites. Is on a first-come, first-come basis, but we were here on a Wednesday, and had the camp to ourselves. Dumpster and vault toilets and no hook-ups in the first loop by the signed entrance, so be sure to bring water and generator for any electric appliances, however other sites further down might have electric. Worked great for us and would come again!"
"Came here late last night, looking for a place to tent on our way through. The woman who checked us in was incredibly kind and very nice. We tented in a large field. It was windy but not a problem for us. It is quite a bargain for a quick night. We stopped briefly to ask a question to some of the others staying in RVs and they were equally friendly. Porta-potties for bathrooms and no picnic table, which is why I didn't give 5 stars. But if you're looking for a quick stopover just to sleep, this was a pretty, inexpensive place - right on the water - to pitch a tent with a wonderful campground host."
"Gorgeous place to camp overnight! Not too far off the highway, and plus it's free! I stayed in a tent one night and do NOT recommend it.. it's way too windy! But if you're staying in a camper or a car it's a great location. Plenty of spots. Porta potty available. Fire rings and picnic tables too"
