"It was my first time here. But I've been hearing about it for years. It was delightful. The steak was cooked so well that I was able to cut it using my left hand because my right hand is not able to hold a knife at present. The food was good. Our waiter was drunk, but was still a great waiter. Food came out quickly. It was hot. Overall it was a good time."
"Located in the stockyards of OKC, Ive had excellent lunch and dinner over 30 years, but had no clue they served breakfast! A local businessman invited me. It was so good! Biscuits and gravy were the best! Hash browns, scrambled eggs.. many items on the menu! Still excellent service too."
"1st time here. Service wasn't that great. Waitress was extremely rude and not very attainable. Catfish was good But, small portion.. again Waitress was extremely rude to my elderly uncle who asked if he given a kids meal. This place is a historic older restaurant and you can definitely tell. Only hamburger they offer wasn't that great. It has a dark interior and booths are tight fit. Over has that rustic vibe."
"I'm only in Oklahoma City for one night, so I wanted to find a place that represents the city's iconic food. I discovered this restaurant because many people on Reddit recommended it. The ambiance was great, and the service was exceptional. However, the taste of the food was really mediocre. Perhaps I didn't order the right things. I wanted to try the chicken fried steak and the lamb fries since they are recommended as local iconic dishes. This restaurant has many mentions online, so I thought I wouldn't go wrong with those. The result was really disappointing; both dishes were bland, especially the chicken fried steak. I had to ask for some hot sauce to help me ease it down. I also ordered an item that was taken off the menu, the quarter-pound burger. After tasting it, I understand why it was removed; the patty was dry and had a chalky texture, tasting like freezer burn. If I were the restaurant owner, I would not serve any of the dishes I ordered tonight. The wait time was about 1 hour. For the quality of the food that I got, the wait wasn't worth it. What a shame. I had high expectations for this 114-year-old iconic restaurant. Hopefully, I'll come back again and try something else on the menu that will change my opinion of it."
"My first visit here for lunch was a delightful surprise! The lamb fries were an absolute winner - tasty and they literally melted in my mouth with every bite, a definite must-try. The steak was cooked to perfection, a testament to their culinary expertise. The service was exceptional too - our waitress was friendly and quick, enhancing the overall experience. If you're seeking top-notch American hospitality alongside fantastic food, this place is definitely worth a visit."
