"Service was great. Food was alright. Interesting thing though, their "sourdough" bread is very similar to white bread. When we asked about it, the server was kind enough to check and confirm it. However, still not convinced we got sourdough which is what we ordered. You can see the picture and decide for yourself if you believe it to be sourdough. Also, they charge a fee for using a card, which is not advertised. That to me is a shady practice as it needs to be advertised prominently, not as a footnote in the receipt. For all those reasons, a lower than stellar rating. I would highly recommend for them to be transparent regarding this practice and maybe consider changing their sourdough bread supplier, as the alleged sourdough bread is not of sufficient quality. Edited to add: Just checked another review and 3 years ago, another person also commented that their sourdough was white bread. So, clearly it's been an issue for years lol."

"It was my first time in, and I was very impressed with the wide variety of breakfast menu items. There were so many I had a hard time choosing. The service was excellent, and my server, Skylar, treated us like family. Then there was the food. It was great, both plates. It was so good we got pie to go just to see how good it was. I would highly recommend Sunnyside Diner for breakfast, and I will be going back to try lunch."

"Fun staff. Cute diner. And finding one in Midwest that has plant based offerings, WHAT?! The French toast was fun to order, as I don't normally find that as a vegan option. It was yum, and sweet. Saved half of it to heat up over oatly ice cream. Mmm. Grabbed the plantbased burger to go (minus the mayo). You may want to confirm that the bun is vegan)"

"Very cute diner. Fills up fast so get there at a decent time! Absolutely loved the food and the service was amazing. I got the California Benedict and ohhh my. Portions are big and good prices! Highly recommend"
