Reviews of SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital - Oklahoma City
"The nurses, doctor and entire staff on the Critical Care floor were wonderful. Very attentive to our needs and compassionate. The room was accommodating, clean and included a couch for someone to spend the night with the patient. The food wasn’t great but that is to be expected in a hospital."
"I love my Dr. Aleda A. Toma and her patient care team. I'm treated like family and they really care about me. They know who you are and the Nurses are awesome. It's not just a job, they love their work and helping each patient. Being treated so good helps me to fight. Each day I feel stronger. Thanks to Dr. Toma and all those employed."
"Overall, happy with the service and care my girlfriend received at this hospital. The nursing staff, administration, food staff, and house keeping were all incredibly pleasant and helpful on the 9th floor. The problem however lies with Dr Brindha Gopala. We were there for a simple observation period, and had expectations of spending one night there and being released in the morning when the doctor was back onsite to evaluate her condition. She showed up sometime after 10a, and did not visit our room at all for the first 3 hours. At roughly 115p, I stopped Dr Gopala in the hallway and asked for a roadmap or game plan of being discharged. She responded with “let me go get your nurse.” We were told the entire stay that Dr Gopala would be making this call, so to bring the nurse back into the situation was a little confusing. Our nurse was given no information and just told to come to our room. (side note - Shelli, you rocked it out of the park. If this review was just for you, it would be 6/5 stars!) After talking with the nurse, I explained to her my questions and she followed up with the Dr and charge nurse on duty to make sure our needs were met. Dr Gopala is unprofessional, lazy, and is not someone I would ever trust my life with (or a loved one’s ever again). She needs to be given a serious talk about understanding what her priority is, which is the patients and their well being."
"I went to the teen psychiatric facility in this hospital when I was 15. I was there for 3 weeks and it was one of the most traumatic experiences in my life. They only took us outside twice the whole 3 weeks I was there. I came out with major vitamin deficiency’s due to never being in the sun. They made us sit there and watch violent movies Or movies with very suicidal content in it. When I would ask to not watch the movies they would tell me that I had to watch it. One of the nurses would not allow me to have my Bible until my mother demanded them let me have it. Which is surprising considering it is a Christian hospital. One of the girls in the facility was being threatened by another girl and when we tried to tell the staff we got screamed at and told we were lying. I was advised by other patients in the facility that when I was having a panic attack in the calm down room the nurses were laughing at me. I could start law suits left and right with this facility. They would degrade us and bully us. I have many other stories. I am 22 now. I work for the 988 suicide prevention lifeline and I could never imagine treating suicidal teenagers the way the nurses treated us. The only good thing about this psychiatric hospital was the psychiatrist and There is a male Latino nurse that was so kind and compassionate. I really hope that there has been a major staff and policy change within this psychiatric facility. DO NOT SEND YOUR TEENS/KIDS HERE!!!!"
"I was having outpatient surgery and my heart stopped for 10 minutes. The doctors worked on me and got my heart started. I was in critical care for over a week. The caretakers were excellent. My heart was checked by cardiologist and because of such great care my heart ❤️ is fine today."
