Reviews of Sid's Diner
"Small diner with a quick drive-thru. Outdoor seating with okay picnic tables and roof shelter. Great place for the ultimate onion burger. Out of the El Reno onion burger "places to go", this is my go-to. It IS small and busy. But It's busy for a reason. Edit: I went to Sid's yesterday and I was surprised by the outdoor patio seating showing signs of being enclosed. I asked about it and I was told that it is in the process of being completely enclosed for additional indoor seating with AC. That will be nice for the Oklahoma hot summers. The picnic tables were moved under the shade of the trees, which is also a nice option."
"I'll start with the good. The place is tiny but very quaint. They kept everything fairly clean and the staff were all very nice and polite. My son enjoyed his burger and tots and my daughter enjoyed her burger as well. My wife had the grilled cheese and liked it as well. Shakes: These were blended PERFECTLY! The thickness of them is spot on. They are thick but drinkable shakes and they will mix flavors together no problem. I had a PB & Banana and my daughter had peanut butter and chocolate. Both were delicious and smooth! Added bonus they bring you the extra in the mixer cup if you are dining in! The drawbacks I found were the fries which were pretty soft and didn't have a great flavor to us. They were kind of like the fries the Garage used to have, only slimmer and not as good. We are not generally fans of this type of fry in the first place though - soft cooked and natural cut. I did actually ask for them to be crispy but it seems the message didn't get across somehow. I had the chicken fried steak sandwich... I do NOT recommend it. It could be just me, but I found it had WAY too much batter, (which was extremely salty by the way,) and the steak was a red-ish color (not rare) and very thin. It looked like it had been forced into a patty with a meat pulverizer and I had a difficult time even seeing it amongst the large amounts of batter. I have been to quite a few places with chicken fried steak so to give an idea of one I like, I like them the way Kendall's does them better."
"Have been told about this place from several coo workers. Drove over an hour with my son and followed Route 66. Excellent food and atmosphere. Waitress was pleasant and very attentive for the packed crowd. Definitely worth stopping! Undercover trucker... keep it Undercover!"
"Food was awesome. Sids grandson griddled and served us. Really nice guy and was very hospitable despite being so busy. Prices are cheap. $5 for a legit burger and fries were huge. Cool spot keeping it real. Onion burger classic for me. A must go. Luckily I was traveling through and always wanted to stop there."
"We got the king double and tater tots. The tater tots came out well before the burger but can't complain because they were tasty. Golden brown outside and buttery on the inside, as a little ketchup and they are near perfect. The burger has shredded onions that are grilled with the burger. The onions were interesting, the flavor was good but the texture was like sour kraut. The proportions here are definitely healthy we split this one burger and it filled us up."
