Reviews of Family Medicine At Legacy
"Emily is such an amazing PA. I’m so thankful for her!! 10/10 recommend"
"A very rude and unprofessional staff. If you are a veteran of the U.S. Military the “office manager” MARIE SAVINE will treat you like garbage. The practice is now trying to peddle wacky tonics and ointments to cure hair loss, skin rashes and such. The Office Manager MARIE SAVINE is an intellectually challenged old gal who is simply angry at the World and will take it out on anyone who questions her. Stay away from this place especially if you are a U.S. Veteran!"
"The staff at this location is extremely unprofessional and rude. I am a Veteran and I was calling to ask if the Providers at this location would be interested in helping our service members get the physical exams they require to be cleared for duty. This is an opportunity to bring business to the practice and something that my company pays for... I'm not sure how helping the military community and getting paid to do that is a bad thing, but the OFFICE MANAGER-MARIE and the RECEPTIONIST BRIE both hung up on me mid-sentence and wouldn't even allow me to speak. On the "Contact" section of their website, there is an option to "Write Us A Message" but it doesn't seem to work. This is very disappointing as I'm sure the Providers at this location would be more open minded to seeing service members as patients and grow their practice more, but quite unfortunate that there isn't a way to speak to anyone professional here since the Office Manager and Receptionist are so rude and disrespectful. I was very polite and professional in the few seconds I got to speak, and was treated with extremely unprofessional behavior and rude manners even after telling them I'm a Veteran. I wonder if the Providers here understand how their staff is running their business."
"Dr J Paul Cook has been my doctor for at least 25 years. He knows my family history, has been there through Cancer and most recently figured out a complex diagnosis after months of frustration. He is thorough and a very good doctor. I also appreciate his longtime nurses. However, I have clashed with Marie many times since the move to the Legacy location. She immediately goes on the defensive, has a wicked tongue and no problem with blaming and belittling the client. You are not allowed to speak your position and if by some miracle you do, it will make no difference. I was recently in the office to fill out some STD paperwork. Not a problem. The office had received the paperwork a week prior and until I called to ask was completely unaware it was there. That said, I went in to fill out the forms with the P.A., Emily. There was a specialist involved as recommended by Dr Cook and I signed a release form so FMA could get records from the specialist and the two offices could communicate. I found out from my employer a couple weeks later that there is a problem with the date on the form, it seemed incorrect. (after I played go between for the Dr office and insurance on several phone calls the date was incorrectly entered on the form). The issues continued when I was told by insurance that Marie had told them to stop faxing follow up requests to the office, there was nothing new to report. Insurance was asking for clarification of the information on the initial form; medical information which would have required contact with the specialist. Rather than do so or call me to explain WHAT exactly the issue was, they ignored the requests until I called to inquire on the status. In 3 days I received 3 different answers, one where FMA told me I should find a company that specializes in STD issues to get is resolved. Then I spoke with Marie who said I needed to come in again since it was a new document. This was over a month after the initial visit and weeks after they received the follow up. It has definitely become a world of patient directed health care where the patient loses. What else could I believe but that they want another office visit fee when insurance only wants clarification and I gave all my information on the first visit and since I am not a doctor or the specialist I am not qualified to answer the other questions. Apparently Marie is allowed to drop hostile or argumentative clients per Dr Cook. After she said that I said fine, after 25 years, I will leave and it would not be because of Dr Cook. Unfortunately he will not know that."
"They don’t care about you or your family. They care about billing the insurance (wrongly) to try and get as much money as they can. Then (wrongfully) billing their patients for money that should have been covered by insurance as an in-office, yearly check up visit. Then they proceeded to cancel all medication refills at the pharmacy. 4 prescriptions that all were canceled with no reasonable explanations. 4 prescriptions that were essential to quality of life and health. Avoid this place at all costs unless you want to be left with unnecessary bills and no medicine refills that should have had 5 refills left."
