Reviews of Wyuka Funeral Home & Cemetery
"By far the worst customer service I have experienced. Of all places where you would assume compassion, understanding and respect would be given, this place has none of it. I would highly recommend you look elsewhere when trying to obtain a final resting place for your loved ones. If you do find yourself in a spot where you have to use this place, I recommend you steer clear of Dale Sutter and Michael (Wyuka President). Unless, you will most likely find yourself in their trap of selling you a resting place for a family member that will never be completed. Niche was purchased in September, and as of the end of January, Dale and Michael’s response is, “we don’t know when it will be done, we will call you someday, could be in April, could be May, could be end of the year.” Complete lack of business integrity. What a terrible place."
"Chloe who dealt with us the most was the most compassionate person I have ever worked with. Losing a loved one is a stressful event in the first place and no one is thinking clearly, so we did say all the viewing and services would be at the church. We didn't ask we just assumed that we would be able to view our loved one anytime we wanted. This was not the case but they accommodated us and every one there was very supportive and caring. Cyndy who took us to the plots was also very understanding and compassionate. Everything with the planning from the moment we lost our loved one went smoothly. The day of the funeral with Chloe directions and guidance went smoothly. The grounds keepers were great also. Thank you Wyuka for a less stressful day"
"My mom and stepdad pre-paid for both funerals and that is the best gift. Mike helped me finish the details of my mom's funeral pictures, music, etc.. he was understanding and listened to me. The staff was very friendly."
"The cemetery itself is absolutely beautiful. Very well-kept. The staff that you have to talk to after a loved one passes away? Not so great. It really added so much more trauma and stress after losing one of the most important people in my life and, instead of them being apologetic and compassionate, we were met with more rudeness, gaslighting, and stonewalling. Enjoy the atmosphere, but definitely keep things in writing as they will take advantage of you and try to make as much money as they can. It's super sad that they use grief to make money the way they do, but I guess that's the world we live in today. I also have multiple witnesses to this and many conversations over text and in voicemails. At the end of the day, Tom Roper, from Roper & Sons had to step in and help us get things settled because Wyuka refused to do what they were supposed to. =/ ETA: I want to add that someone from Wyuka messaged me, trying to get me to change my review without any change in behavior or action. They wanted to schedule a Zoom meeting to "discuss" this, and then didn't follow through via email. So, be aware that even if you have already dealt with the trauma of having to work with these individuals, they will try to guilt you into not sharing your experience so that they can save face and get more business. You can see screenshots of our conversation in the comments of my review on Wyuka's FB page."
"Joey was very attentive from the beginning to end of the whole process. I'm 39 and let's face it what do we know about death at any age especially if you have never been through it with a loved one unfortunately. He made us feel welcome and at ease during everything. I'm very thankful for all of your help and appreciate everything he did for our Mother. Joey went above and beyond, was very respectful and caring as well. During our hard time. We are very thankful for how everything went and very pleased as well! My hat's off to him and the whole Wyuka Staff! My mother would be very proud and pleased how well everything went. Thank you, Joey! Ty Willcoxon"
