"The entire Performance team has been a pleasure to work with, patient, helpful, and responsive. I deal with a lot of contractors and their attentiveness, response, and customer service have been great. The only problem is I cant get my 9 year old out of the pool. It has become the focal point of our new home."
"I had a very bad experience with Sam. I note that whenever someone leave a review stating they were dissatisfied he blames the pool owner, the equipment, etc. and does not offer to make the situation right. This was are experience. He installed new equipment and it did not work correctly. We could not use the equipment. First he blamed us, said we were not following his instructions and we were the problem. Finally after repeated attempts via text and calls with Sam to get the equipment working he came out to look. He could not get it to work properly. He then blamed the power source. Everything else connected to the power source worked fine, so it did not make sense to us, but we paid to have someone out to look, and there was no problem. He then said we got a faulty device (he is the one that selected and ordered the device), after working with the manufacturer that turned out not to be true. The blaming by Sam continued until a service person pointed out that Sam had made a very fundamental install error. Sam was so busy blaming everyone else he never thought he might have made a simple mistake that was easy to fix. The error was corrected and the equipment worked fine. No apology from Sam and to our surprise he then sent a bill charging double his regular hourly charge, for all the work he did after the install trying to get the equipment to work."
"Negligent install of pool cover. Sam installed a fiberglass pool and auto cover for me 4 years ago and it ripped. Turns out the install was totally incorrect and not done properly. The rep said he’s never seen such a poor install and Sam voided my warranty because of his negligence. We had to remove the tracks and motor and reinstall. I’ve attached photos where you can see how much things had to be moved. Zero stars wasn’t an option. 1 is way too many for Sam. do not use him or you will be sorry! The tracks must be perfectly square and be of equal length. Sam didn’t square the box properly with the pool before he poured concrete and had to make things uneven just to get it to work. The track lengths were over a foot different in length. He also pinned the cover diagonally to make up for the cover not being square."
"Sam from Performance Pools is the best and so easy to work with. We started with another pool company in Lincoln that just took almost $50,000 of our money and wouldn't answer our phone calls texts or return them. We basically had a mud hole with sides and overgrown with weeds, trees, and mosquitoes for almost two years. Sam came out and looked at our project and the equipment the first pool guy brought out was not suitable for an in ground pool. Sam took on our project and completed or pool within two weeks. Sam always answers his phone calls or he will return them within the same day. There's a reason this happened because Sam ended rebuilding our steps and making the necessary changes to have a nice working pool. We had to take out the building permit that the first company should of done. Needless to say the first company is continuing to take peoples money and not performing. Since last fall Sam's worked on 4 or 5 pools to finish them that the first company took peoples money and did the same thing he did to us. Again, Sam is the best to work with and is on the job to make sure your pool is done right!!"
"I hate leaving negative reviews but felt that it was necessary because I chose this business because of all of the positive reviews. - They did not show up in the scheduled time for the pool opening. The owner did appologize when I called them but then showed up over 2 hours after they were coming the second time and had the expectation that I should be available to discuss the opening. I now regret letting them work on my pool when I could not be there. Which he later claimed was my fault but he showed up 7 1/2 hours later than he committed to. - When I checked the pool the next day, there was a screw driver in the pool. They ripped off the cover for our light switch that controls our cover. When I asked him about this he blamed it on our fence. The fence has been there for 10 years and the cover was never ripped off prior to that. The least he could’ve done was communicate that he broke it. - I text him to confirm he was coming out to complete the opening and he called me to tell me that it was done. The pool was not clean. Heater was not running. and covers were not on the jets. When I told him that in the past pool openings from other people these things would be done he responded by saying “well you should have went with them then”. He later said he would come out. That was the last thing I wanted given the way Sam handled it up to that point - After his unprofessionalism with time and lack of responsibility for tearing off our light switch cover, there was no way I wanted them working on our pool. Please proceed with caution if you choose them."
