"Onboarding, as a contract-to-hire, was a very poor experience for me. It was poor because it's going to be costly. There was a surprise four week assessment, and then I was released from work. They felt that I wasn't learning the job quick enough (they were warned that there was going to be a learning phase). I advise being compensated for (((all))) your expenses before taking a position at this Elkhorn location, if your situation permits it."

"Stay Away for this company because you're not going to make it. They don't keep their Automation technician,this is the raison why nobody is willing to work for them. Do not quite your job for this because after 2 weeks they are going to terminate your job without notice. By the grace of the Lord, I was able to get an unemployment after they terminated me without notice. There is no on site HR therefore if you direct manager feels like you're more qualified than him, you will be let go after couple weeks. They offered me this job twice before taking it. After I went for this job I realize that none of my direct supervisor at Merck has a college degree. So if you have your education don't think you are going at this place to make it your career because. They literally called me during my day off and told me to not come back. Please don't run for a big paying job that you will not be able to keep for a month. If you don't believe me, you can go for it because you will find it out the hard way. "Throughout my career, I would rate Merck as one of the best manufacturers that I have ever worked for. Clearly the business environment has changed a great deal over the years and I will not compare benefits/pay to companies of yesteryear, but I can tell you that in the current business climate, I consider myself one of the lucky to be working here. If you get the opportunity to work for Merck Elkhorn, don't pass it by or you will add it as a lifelong regret. Merck is a strong stable company, with leadership that still believes in taking care of its employees and respecting time in and loyalty. Although we have our positives and negatives, like everyone else,we have good pay and one of the best benefits packages that I have seen in a current manufacturer."
