"This pool was built for, and named after my uncle who was killed on a military ship explosion just after the Korean War. I have been going to this pool since I was a toddler & I remember my (now late) grandmother always making us rootbeer floats after a long afternoon of swimming. It's true, it's not a big pool with giant slides, etc---but it's a pool with history, built with love & maintained & sustained by a wonderful community that cares about people and the Villiage of Big Springs. It's truly a most special place on earth. So stop by to cool off, and if you really want to have a 'greatest day' finish it off with a rootbeer float :). Big Springs is a perfect place to soak in the calmer, saner, sweeter things in life."
"Went here on long drive home - thought it would be fun to give kids a break from the car. Place looked permanently closed. It was noon on 7/5/17. There was a picnic shelter and playground equipment."
