"It looked fine and we'll kept."
"Could be one of the best apartments in Lincoln! Have been living here for more than two years. This nice and fancy wall shown in the pic has been my favorite. The huge windows are great too, very nice view outside. When my lease ended, my deposit was fully returned to me, that was amazing!"
"The building is fine. Nothing special and rent is at the top of the going rate. The management is why I am giving this one star. They say one thing and do another with no regard for tenants. Mgr. April stranded us for hours on move-in day for no reason and with no remorse."
"I have lived in a studio at the 35 East apartments for almost two years and I would highly recommend the complex. In general, the layout in the studios is extremely well thought out. The apartment is essentially a large rectangle divided into four living spaces: the kitchen, living area, bedroom, and bathroom. Kitchen The kitchen is huge with a ton of cupboard space (but only two drawers for whatever reason). There is a large lazy susan cabinet in the lower corner, a dishwasher, a disposal, an oven, fridge, and a microwave. Unfortunately, the microwave is on the counter (which I find extremely odd, tbh) but the worst thing about this is that means there is no vent fan. If you cook a lot like I do (and occasionally burn things like I do) you will get to know your fire alarm. There is no ice maker or backsplash. Living Area There are beautiful laminate floors everywhere but the bedroom and the ceilings are super tall. The only ugly thing in the apartment is directly in the living room- the heat/ac unit. It is efficient, but also kinda loud. There is a built-in bookcase that gives a peek into the bedroom. Bedroom There is a large almost floor to ceiling window in the bedroom which gives you a wonderful view of either East Campus or the parking lot (you can see which I’ve chosen in my photos). There is short pile, almost industrial carpet in the bedroom that is super easy to care for. Bathroom The bathroom is the best part of the whole apartment. The massive closet is IN the bathroom, along with the washer/dryer, so that means no clothes in your bedroom! Revolutionary! There is a ton of room for storage on both sides including four drawers and a cupboard under the sink. Unfortunately, the plug-in’s are on the same side as the drawers, so if you use a hair dryer or straightener your cord will wrap around the drawer pulls constantly. The shower is large and has a seat! But there isn’t a light above so it’s quite dark in there. My knees have never been so hairy. General The complex is directly on Holdrege which is a fairly busy street, so there is some noise from the traffic and the fire house nearby. However, there are no vents in the apartment and the walls are pretty thick, so it’s very difficult to hear your neighbors. And I have never seen even one bug! WRK is very easy to work with- you can pay your rent online (and even with a credit card if you want to) and maintenance has always been quick to respond to requests. The complex has a large dumpster and recycling bins in the lot, along with ample free parking. There is a really big elevator, so move in is super easy, and the hallways are quite wide. If you work downtown like I do, or go to school at UNL, you’ll find the bus system extremely easy to use as there is a stop directly across the street. There are four separate lines that’ll get you down there, all in around 15 minutes. Valentino’s and Cultiva are both tenants on the first floor of the east building, so you can stay fed and caffeinated. There aren’t a lot of amenities at 35 East- no gym, no lobby, no outdoor space, no pets. They advertise “indoor bike parking” but there are only three spots and they are always full. That being said, the building is secure and definitely the nicest apartment complex you’re going to find in this part of town. TL;DR 35 East is a lovely brand new apartment complex with a brilliant layout and high end finishes. Live there if you can afford it."
