"Went in to get quotes for replacement doors, track system and curtain for our fireplace after a door broke. The guy working the front looked like he was unhappy when we walked in, didn’t show interest in helping us, and told us the guy who could help was out and we could email pics to him and he would get back to us. We never received anything. Went directly to the Fireplace Center and received a quote, information and they were willing to be helpful."
"On our first (& last) visit to Capital Patio and Flame Shop we encountered the manager named Taylor. He had absolutely no interest in listening to us or helping meet our expectations. After several minutes of ridicule from Taylor as to what we were interested in, we left and went to The Fireplace Center. They were professional and completely understood our wish to keep the age of our 100-year-old home authentic."
"Friendly, helpful staff who want you to have a lifetime of good experiences with their equipment. We have 2 different MHP grills purchased over 20 years ago at Capital Patio and they still provide service and parts when needed. This is the kind of personalized care that makes you return year after year."
"Great products for outdoor cooking and relaxing. We bought about $2500 of outdoor furniture. Be aware this place is not cheap. I originally gave them four stars on our outdoors furniture purchase. Some of our order had to come from the factory, but was not received. I called them, and they were "sorry, and wouldn't charge us the shipping". Not much contrition after a big screwup! When I said I could get it faster and cheaper from Amazon, instead of buying locally, the guy's response was, "well what do you want to do? The ball is in your court.""
"This place is awesome. We lost ignition power to two fireplaces after a lightning strike. The first place I called was the business near 84th & Highway 2 that installed our fireplaces when we built our home. Their response was “we’ll schedule our technician. It will cost $150 per fireplace for inspection and diagnosis, then any time or parts required will be added to that.” So, $300 to walk in the door. I paused, questioned the “diagnosis fee” and she affirmed it was per each fireplace and explained it included cleaning. I politely declined and then stopped by Capital Patio and The Flame Shop. Travis (not to be confused with Travis explained that others had reported a similar issue with lightning and took all my information, copied my manuals and promised to get back to me. He called us back and said he really needed to come out and see for himself what the issue was. No mention of any associated fee for that service because there was none. He showed up on time, was very courteous, determined the problem and replaced the control panels and ordered a board for our main fireplace fan. He then called me shortly after he left because he wanted me to know what the cost of the part was before proceeding. The total cost was not that much more than what the other company was charging for diagnosis and cleaning. I do research before I decide on service providers. Especially when I know very little about the issue I am trying to get resolved. I also talk to people who have had them do work if I can find them. The star ratings of both companies were similar, but a closer look at the details of the ratings provided more clarity to me. Capital Patio had pretty thorough comments on the positive side. One negative review was completely understandable as they didn’t carry what the customer was looking for. For the competitor there was a mix but two very negative reviews in the past few months on customer service were seemingly offset by a more recent glowing review. It seemed a bit odd to me given the other comments so I dug a little deeper and found the reviewer was engaged to a fireplace service tech employed by the Omaha-based company. This is a long post, but I believe in honesty of providers and the people who review businesses. All I can say is I appreciate Capital Patio and The Flame Shop even more, and will say they have a customer for life thanks to their honesty and customers service."
