"This is horrible! First there is only ONE employee, and there is obviously too much for one person. On check in, there weren't any key cards, she said she was waiting for someone to bring some and she would bring them as so as she could. Ok... then she disappeared before we had a chance To ask for the WiFi password. Figured we would get it with the key card. In the room, the floors were really dusty. But everything else looked clean. We called the desk about the key cards and to ask for towels as there were none. She said she would be here in just a minute with them. In the meantime, while waiting for her to show up, we found out the DOOR DOES NOT LOCK!!! Even with the deadbolt turned, a person on the outside of the room can just walk right in!! Tried several more times to call the desk, since the only double room they have is 2 miles from the front desk!! No answer. Can't leave a message. So, finally set the night chain (not feeling secure at all!!) And went to sleep. This morning I called the desk again. On the 3rd try the same overworked lady answered the phone. When I told her of the issues here and asked to be moved to another room closer to the doors, and with a working door locks, or give me a refund. She said there were no more double bed rooms closer to the doors and they don't do refunds. I said "Excuse me?? What do you mean no refunds??". She stated that the owner doesn't do refunds. She said she has been here two years and he has never issued a refund. She said all she could do is try to make our stay as comfortable as possible. How is that going to happen?? We can't even leave our room without taking everything with us because the door doesn't lock!!! She said she would bring some towels and would show us a different room as soon as she had some cleaned. I am beyond disappointed with this place!!"
"This place is dilapidated and smells like an old meth house in the lobby which was the nicest part. I had a reservation from my online payment for this hell hole. No one was at the front desk( albeit it was late at night) yet that’s alright. I rang the bell with no response. I called the phone number after I noticed a sign that asked to call. I ended up calling the number 12 times. Still no answer. I rang the ring doorbell 9 times before I knocked on the office door. Finally some guy opens the door without a shirt on and smelled like he was drunk. He asked what was going on and I told him about my reservation. He sent out some lady who I guess was the employee. She took one look at me and stated “ We don’t have any rooms for you here “. I replied that I have a reservation. She groaned and then went around to the computer. She tapped a few keys and I didn’t even see the screen turn on and again with the same response. She quickly left back to what I assume is where she lives full time. I got my receipt from my boss who reserved the room. I had to knock on the door again and a different guy then answered the door. She came out again and I showed her my receipt. Again she responded with “We have no rooms for you here and that receipt means nothing “. She then proceeded to tell me not to knock on the door again because she was trying to sleep and that’s her home. No one should ever be treated that way. I’m glad that I didn’t stay there because the lady at the other hotel let me know that it was a dump and that the night manager/resident was a racist."
"The Scottsbluff Inn lobby looked very nice and inviting when we first arrived. That was the only nice thing about the hotel. Our stay was checking in Friday evening, September 1 and checking out Monday, September 4, 2023. The desk clerk was extremely unfriendly when we checked in Friday evening. This was the only time there was anyone at the front desk. There was a number you could call for “service” but it was neither answered or was a call returned. We had to ask for wash cloths the first night – we never got them the entire stay. We ended up buying wash cloths at the local Walmart. The reader board outside the hotel stated there was a Breakfast, free Wi-Fi and a Pool. None of which was true. The breakfast room was closed, the pool was empty and the Wi-Fi never connected. The signs also said no pets or smoking which was also not true. The place smelled of smoke and we saw several large dogs both inside and outside the building. The last evening when we got back to the hotel, as we started down the hall to our room, a huge Rottweiler dog came around the corner. It was growling viciously and started to charge us. Fortunately, the owner had a tight grip on the beast. Our room wasn’t clean to begin with. The three days we were there, housekeeping was completely absent. Not even our trash was emptied. We started taking it to the lobby and throwing it away there. There was a dead decomposing mouse on the floor in the hallway off the lobby. We thought it was a piece of insulation or building material since the property was supposedly being renovated –that was until we saw the tail. On Sunday morning, we had both of our room keys deactivated and could not get into our room. We had to search the hotel halls to find an employee that could help us. The front desk clerk was extremely rude when the other employee was finally able to contact her. She asked why we didn’t call the number and we told her because the number is not answered. She also very accusingly said that we must have placed both cards next to a cell phone to deactivate them, which was not the case at all. This place needs to be completely demolished and forgotten. If this was the very last place on earth – we would not stay here again. We’d give it zero stars if that were possible."
"We were quiet disappointed with this place. Sign said breakfast, no breakfast offered, indoor pool, couldn't swim because pool was drained. Rooms were dirty and smelled like pee and old rotting wood. Didnt have vending machines either."
"This is a hotel in transition. I think they are trying and struggling some, probably with having enough staff. My room didn't have cable, which they warned me about and gave me a discount for - no complaints as that is good communication and good service. They were low on clean towels that night - they were being washed. When I went to ask for one and she gave me a whole room set, fresh from the dryer. No complaints there either as the problem was solved. My room was clean and quiet. I couldn't find anyone in the morning at the desk to check out, though, and the parking lot needs better lighting. Also note that Google Maps takes you to the wrong entrance. It's really on 21st Ave, not the little side road."
