"Starting a road trip through Nebraska we flew into Denver [long haul from UK] and then drove to Ogallala. Found our accommodation, dumped our luggage and drove to Safeway. Bought a few groceries for a simple evening meal plus a pack of beer. Got to checkout and the cashier insists on ID. I didn't have any, my passport was in the rental and our UK driving licences don't easily show our date of birth. However as a 69 year old I'm never going to pass as underage; a little common sense would be useful. But the cashier was having none of it, No ID, No Beer! I can understand the need for the rule but really? The lovely lady behind me offered her ID but the cashier wouldn't budge, so she purchased the beer with her groceries and gifted me the beer outside in the car park. Such a generous gesture by the lady from Lake McConaughty. We were grateful but what a jobsworth was Eileen the cashier!"

"Absolutely worst Safeway I've been to. I bought items that were on the current sales ad. Checked out and realized they overcharged me for the meat I bought. So I returned to customer service and they gave me the difference back. However, I got home and was looking through my receipt and sure enough all the items that were on sale I was overcharged for. Yes, I'm a reward member! I was already how and live an hour and a half away do couldn't return to store. I won't waste my time going to this Safeway! I'll drive to Alliance!! 100% better Safeway!"

"I love Safeway and the people who work there! My favorite lady there, Deb White, is always so amazing to my girls anytime we go shop there and she is working. They actually even ask if she is working every time we walk into Safeway. It’s always very clean and stocked well too which is so nice and then having great people that work there too is an added bonus to an already great store."
