Reviews of Ika San Ramen and Izakaya
"Today was my third visit here. First two times I really enjoyed the food. The service has always been good. We were there today at noon. When we tried to order we were told they did not have any beef, pulled pork or shrimp. We made changes to our orders (reluctantly). Several of the items we ordered were not hot. It wasn’t busy so that was not the reason. The waiter was kind and kept apologizing and mentioned the staff has been asking the owner to address these problems, without success. I’m posting this because the food is good but we won’t be eating there if we can’t get what we want."
"Absolutely delicious. I want to move in and eat everything! It was our first time, I tried the Tonkatsu (my standard favorite) and it blew me out of the water. The broth was rich and delicious, noodles cooked to perfection, and the pork belly was crispy and tender. We tried the Tokyo Fried Chicken as well… oh my god, the sauce and the crispiness were perfection. The atmosphere is very chill, One Piece in the background was nice touch. I’ll definitely be back, can’t wait try more!"
"I was in the area, and I noticed this place right about the time I was thinking about getting some dinner. What a great coincidence. I love good ramen noodles, and I was eager to give this place a try. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and seated right away. I like the Japanese theme of the restaurant. I didn't recognize the shows playing on the 2 big TVs, but I know Japanese anime when I see it. It wasn't until after I was seated that I noticed outdoor seating. I used the bathroom to wash my hands before my meal, and I was impressed with how clean the bathroom was. I wasn't sure what I wanted, so I asked the waitress for a suggestion. She recommended the Tonkotsu ramen bowl. I don't remember how long I waited for my food, but it didn't seem like a long time. For my beverage, I had Coke. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't sell bubble tea. Asian food and bubble tea just seem to go hand in hand to me. The food is amazing. I loved the quality of the broth, the pork, and the noodles. Whenever I saw characters feasting on noodles in any anime show, I imagined it was like this. Considering a double whopper meal at Burger King with medium fries and a medium drink is $14, I don't believe $16 is out of line for a very good quality ramen bowl. My one suggestion to the owner is to put bubble teas on the menu. I will come back to try more of their dishes."
"The ramen is good. Portions are large and the flavors are solid. The menu is surprisingly pork heavy which is fine, it just leaves more limited beef/chicken and veggie options. The side options are pretty big too if your looking to enhance your bowl. They did forget the egg in my bowl, luckily my buddy donated me his. The price is more than what I was expecting as well. It a yummy place to eat, but the price of a meal for 2 makes this place more of an “every once in a while” kind of place."
"Went out to lunch at Ika San Ramen and Izakaya on Pine Lake today. The food was amazing. Everything was fresh and had exceptional flavor. We shared dumplings and steamed buns as an appetizer. For our entrees we had the Fuego Ramen and Spicy Miso. Definitely going back again!"
