"Darn near perfect. Started with the lobster bisque and I was in heaven. Well balanced flavor that was only enhanced with the sherry when we added it. Had the Connecticut lobster roll which was yummy. My side was Brussels Sprouts and they were crunchy and salty. Hubby had the whole belly clam sandwich and proclaimed that tasty as well. I had a bite of the clams and they were nicely cooked and spiced. His side was Parmesan truffle fries and he shared a few with me and they were flavorsome as well. Dessert was Boston cream pie which was good, but not outstanding. My Expresso Custard Parfait had some texture issues with the chocolate layers not firm enough for my tastes but was still decent. Hubby had a winter sangria and it was tasty, without the sour notes a lot of sangrias have. The service was timely and attentive."
"This was our first visit to Sand Point. Nice, clean and modern interior, maybe not really congruent with a New England themed restaurant. We tried the Steamed Clams - they tasted great and a nice size for an appetizer. The fried Belly Clams had a nice light breading and also tasted very nice. The Lobster Bisque with Sherry was amazing. A the Sherry gave the Bisque a very nice flavor. The Lobster Risotto could have been a little creamier and could have had a little more lobster. If this would have been my only dish, I would have been disappointed. Our server was either new, or not very well trained. She was nice and friendly, but our main order did not make it to the kitchen, resulting in a long wait but the server comped a second drink for both my husband and I, so that made up for the wait. We will definitely be back, there are a few items on the menu that we want to try."
"Writing this review as a veteran east coaster filled with the excitement of nostalgic cuisine. Walking into the door of Sand Point you’re treated to the fresh atmosphere of low tide. Rule of thumb in the east, is if it smells like fish it’s not fresh but knowing I’m in a land locked state I let it slide. I had the whole belly clams breaded and fried in what can be described as a Stouffer’s stuffing mix. Halfway through the plate I was ready for the dish to be over, but I am a stubborn man and finished the plate. The beef tips, you are provided 5-6 bites of beef with some smears of sauce. Tender medium rare, the price makes it a no for me. The dish is considered quality over quantity, but again. That quality wasn’t there. Which leads me to the star of the show. The clam strips. Freshly poured from the box into the fryer. Paired with their idea of a doctored tartar sauce and a sweet chili sauce. The chili sauce was alright. The best thing the clam chowder had going for it was that it was warm. The salads though. Those were something special. Fresh greens topped with large slices of cheese. An in house Caesar dressing that was so un-noticeable you relied on your eyes to make sure it was in your bite. Croutons that you need to select which tooth you’re willing to sacrifice to the gamble of damage. Those croutons I can not say enough about. A patron 3 tables down, I could hear when he had selected to consume one of these glorious bread cubes. Front of house was scattered, but the waitress was alright. The atmosphere was televisions equipped with about 10-15 photos of someone’s family vacation. Reminded me of when aunt Meredith wanted to show you her weekend trip to cape cod. Will I be back? At $113 plus tip for two….. no."
"So much on the menu that I wanted to try - but settled on the fried clam strips, (both dipping sauces were amazing), a cup (which was more bowl sized) of lobster bisque (definitely add the sherry - takes it to another level) and the lobster mac and cheese (YUM). Staff was very friendly and checked back many times (not to an extreme, a comfortable amount). The food was absolutely amazing and good sized portions (took more than half of it home). Very inviting and relaxing atmosphere. Drink menu has a few things I need to try also. I will be back!"
"We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at this restaurant. The service was outstanding, and the food was exceptionally delicious. I opted for the lobster salad, and the portion of lobster was just right. My child ordered the lobster roll, which not only looked tempting but also had the perfect amount of lobster. The lemon dessert was indulgent, and we highly recommend this place if you haven't tried it yet. We'll be returning soon. Our server was wonderfully friendly and courteous, contributing to the overall positive ambiance of this modern and clean restaurant. Give it a try—you won't be disappointed."
