"Great atmosphere. Food is good. A definite must go for kids and parents. Mt husband really liked his burger, huge and it was one of the smaller burgers. Wonderful apes everywhere and outside ape statuess, too."
"The King Kong of Lincoln and I met paths on New Year’s Day when I was traveling through Nebraska. I heard of this joint through a friend who is an advocate of everything about the King Kong Burger. So without question I had to give the place a go. A description of the appearance of the establishment my friend had illustrated in my head struck me as too fictional to believe. Of course, as I drew closer, my doubt stood corrected. A mountainous gorilla on the welcome sign surprised me because of its unreal size and it isn’t everyday you see a gorilla in such a place. I was startled there was a drive thru but that is out of the scope of this assessment. The earliest sensation I got when I stepped inside was the stench of the place. I got whiffs of the entire menu—steak, fries, GYROS. This place has cuisine range. But I was here to test the (should be) patented King Kong Burger. It was unclear where to order this dream of a sandwich but a friendly worker directed me to the register. Delighted, I asked for a “single Kong” with fries. I paid just shy of $20 for this… no drink! WOW, I thought. My friend better be right on this one or else he might as well become someone I only just used to know (joking of course, who could be that petty.) I waited for my meal in the dining area or should I say the theater. I was overcome with a smile as I saw the famous gorilla jungle band I had been told about. This place is such a treat. Finally, after a reasonable wait time I picked up my food. I was in a time crunch so I departed and chowed down on this bad boy on the road. I didn’t observe the bathrooms so please enter at your own risk! In my truck, I was full of eagerness (and hunger.) When I opened my to-go box, I was hit with a wave of fry seasoning. Why was there so much fry seasoning? It was all on top too. I went for it anyway and grabbed a fry hidden in the seasoning. Believe me or don't believe me at all, but the seasoning didn’t overwhelm the fry one bit. It was tasty. After eating half the fries as a warmup, it was time to get into the main event. I took a carnivorous chomp into my single Kong. It was a burger alright. The patty tasted like it was seasoned with the same seasoning as the fries, which wasn’t too shabby, just a little disappointing. To get quantitative, the burger was an easy 6.9/10. My biggest concern wasn’t related to the meat. The pickles were hovering over the edge of horrific. I had to pick them off which is a bummer because to me pickles could go on anything. Shameful, but who cares. I definitely overate. There was $20 worth of food in that box for sure. All $20 of which was all in my stomach and behaving so-so until after about three hours when it took an even harsher turn. At that point, my stomach began giving a pulsing feeling. Only a hunched over position calmed this hullabaloo down. If I weren’t still in a truck on I-80, this would have been the perfect time to take a slumber on a couch with the Rose Bowl Game on. All-embracing, I enjoyed my pit stop at the King Kong Burger in Lincoln. Certainly worth checking out when passing through. You really need to see it to believe it so make sure to take lots of pictures and a little bit of antacid."
"They have very delicious gyros with an interesting environment—about 20 stuffed animals hanging from the ceiling. The fries and onion rings are below average, but this place is perfect if you're craving some good gyros. Their customer service was nice, and they even brought us our food. I would come back just for the gyros. 5 stars."
"A unique find. Good food and friendly staff. Only four stars instead of 5 because the food is a bit pricy. I still recommend."
"It's been a billion years since I've been here. Place looks run down outside but don't let that fool you. Food is a bit pricey but it's worth it. In the billion years ago I would come for the gyros. Today I was craving a burger. I got a burger so big I can't finish it. I'm trying to stuff at least one more of these king size mozzarella sticks in my mouth but my stomach is not happy about it. My bacon cheeseburger and mozzarella sticks set me back 25.00 but it's good!"
