About the Child & Family Development Division
The Child & Family Development Division, located at 1820 Randolph Road Southeast in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is dedicated to providing quality early learning, education, and recreation services to promote healthy aging and an improved quality of life for the entire Albuquerque community.
The Department of Youth & Family Services within the division supports families in achieving self-sufficiency and nurturing healthy, self-realized children. Community Recreation & Education programs, including community centers, youth programs, meals, and educational initiatives, aim to meet community needs and encourage community involvement.
The City of Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Area Agency on Aging focuses on developing comprehensive needs assessments, planning programs for older adults, and implementing services for individuals over the age of 60 in Bernalillo County.
The institution offers job and internship opportunities for individuals of various ages and skill levels. Crossing Guards assist students and parents in safely crossing the street to and from school on a daily basis during the school year.
Through initiatives like "ABQ Youth Connect," the division works to enrich the lives of Albuquerque residents and create a community of safety and inclusion by connecting youth to opportunities in the area. The Cabinet's goal is to maximize youth opportunities, enhance inter-departmental organization, utilize resources effectively, build public-private partnerships, and monitor indicators of children and youth well-being.
